Been a while since I last signed on, but I just want to see if people who have bought bottles of Maroon and Bold and the Kalamity variants have dealt with the bottles exploding on them. I work for Haskell's in White Bear Lake, and we have had bottles exploding left and right. Don't know if it's a glass issue or something else. The way the bottles explode is something completely new to me. Looks like Mount St. Helens going way back on May 18, 1980. Blows holes out the sides of the bottles. We've recalled all of those products, including Brother vesper just for caution. If anyone has had issues with any of these beers and bought them from our stores please let us know.

I don't know what I am more stunned about Haskell's selling beer or Pour Decisions bottle exploding.

We had a large Pour Decisions tasting a few months ago and a few bottles bursted and gushed like crazy when we opened them up, probably a sittng time bomb.

I've only ever bought their Berliners and Gose. No issues there.

I have a bottle of Maroon and Bold in the fridge right now. Should probably go check on that, eh?

Any known problems with St. Whatshername? Got one of those sitting in the cellar right now...

One of the rye barrel kalamitys we sent out in a team BIF exploded after arrival. Not sure where it was purchased as I purchased bottles from both Haskells and the brewery.

All of the bourbon kalamity bottles I've opened have gushed and gushed... Some st whatshername gushed and some did not... Luckily, all of the rye quarter cask kalamity Bottles ive opened have not gushed. Can't recall if any other gushers... In the kalamity variants, I have not tasted anything off once the carb is knocked out. Then again, the flavor is huge and I drank em young while the drinking is good!

My guess is that such an 'award' timed with major quality control issues will reek havoc on the breweries reputation.

Just opened one out on my deck, it geyesered...the neighbors looked at me kind of weird as I was sucking on the top of the bottle. Still tastes great!

    That brewery doesn't exist anymore.

We had three bottles explode on our shelves last Saturday morning and this created a horrible mess with 66 ounces of liquid and innumerable shards/specs of glass everywhere! Upon opening the last two on hand, they gushed like "Old Faithful". I'll be contacting Bent next week to inform. From a safety consideration, it's advisable to pull any remaining bottles on retail shelves immediately. Would hate to see one of these explode on a customer. And... the above statement "That brewery doesn't exist anymore" is true but in name only. Same location and same master brewer. I believe they are good people who will no doubt take responsible measures to ensure any needed corrections are made. Thanks to WYVYRN527 for posting this.

Just cracked my one and only bottle of the rye quarter cask variant of Kalamity. No gusher, but very high carbonation and a large head even when poured slowly. The nose is slightly sour/tart or almost metallic like. Taste has a slight tang to it as well. Anyone else notice infection issues or signs with the rye Kalamity? Still decent, but even with out the slight infection/funkiness it isn't that good at all. Bummer.

Very true. Though, how many "Bent" beers are exploding?

Oh, and I'm loving the Moar IPA. A "session" IPA that actually works.

Can't speak for other Haskell's but the guys in White Bear do a great job with the beer selection and are really knowledgeable and helpful.

Remember that Haskell's was against Sunday sales.
