Little blurbs on BA, RB, etc pop up from time to time highlighting miscellaneous beers released by PDBC. I gotta say, I have the most fun time and enjoyment tasting through everything Pour Decisions has to offer compared to any other taproom in the cities. Tonight salinity, wine BA saint whatshername, and a lactose stout were on tap, in addition to others like infidelity and the always delicious patersbier; everything was tasting damn fine.

Is there something about PDBC that doesn't attract people? Is it the location, image, or beer? I'm just incredibly surprised that I didn't have to belly-up my way to the bar to get a seat tonight. As a consumer, this is way cool and I wish I continue to have this ease of access, however as a beer advocate and in consideration of PDBC's well-being, I gotta say "whatthefuck??" Cheers all!

I've been quite impressed. The first Minnesota brewery turning out legitimate sours on a regular basis. MN Weisse was the highlight of ABR for me. I was able to get some more at the taproom last Friday, along with 'Murica Sour Ale and a few bottles of Salinity to go. It is becoming a hidden gem.

I've always enjoyed my time there. But, yeah, kinda a shitty location.

PDBC is my favorite MN brewery right now. Salinity is a personal favorite and I really dug the smoked saison as well. I make sure to order a pint of the patersbier whenever I see it on tap. Great work PDBC!

It's hardly a pain-in-the-ass location. Easy to get to, easy parking, etc. etc. We sure like to complain on this site. Can you clarify?

The site is hipster repellant. I've been told their long-term goals are to be more of a production brewery and less taproom oriented. They are my favorite taproom but my mouth waters at the thought of being able to get salinity year round at the local liquor store.

Related to PD's taproom they are using a tap line to go through kegs of all the sours they make. If you have an appreciation for sours this would be a good weekend to stop out

Doubt I will ever make it to the taproom. What PD beers are generally found on-tap elsewhere?

I have seen Infidelity, Patersbier, and Actress & the Bishop lately, but that's mainly around here in Roseville/Falcon Heights. Stout's Pub in Falcon Heights almost always has a line flowing with PD.

The location isn't great for me as I'm in the SW metro, but I was really impressed by the beers I tried at Where the Wild Beer are. It's exciting to have a brewery in MN that specializes in the styles that they do. Definitely a brewery to watch and I hope they broaden their distribution.

Love going to Pour Decisions. No, you aren't going to see as many long beards or Rollie Fingers mustaches, but the beer is awesome and it's fairly close to my home in the beer wasteland known as the northern suburbs.

Anywhere in roseville would be bad for someone from the sw burbs. I think the problem people have is the back corner of an industrial park thing. The only real downside to their location is it isn't as easy to find if you've never been there but as an outstater who has to come by car, this is probably one of the easiest taprooms to get to.

Beer wasteland? Isn't Barley Johns close by?

I rarely have time to get to local taprooms, and I tend to stick to those that are closer to me (South Mpls). Don't like the idea of driving to Roseville and maybe having too many with no easy way to get home. I have only had the Scotch ale they had at the fair last year, and while it wasn't the ideal style for the 90 degree day I was there, it was damn good. I really hope they start distributing.

You haven't seen a beer wasteland until you've been to Roch...

I've heard some not so great opinions from non-BAs, but myself and my friends love all their stuff. Not sure what that is all about, maybe just that most people are not into Berliners and goses and whatnot yet. That plus their small number of tap accounts and lack of liquor store presence keep most people from trying anything by them. But I think they will do great once they get a little bigger.

I'd say all three. I know that a lot of BAs love them, but for the average consumer who doesn't know as much about beer as the folks on this board, they don't have much to offer. Unfamiliar beer styles, a location these consumers don't think of as a taproom destination, a bad name and cheap-looking graphic design.

I believe I've read that the folks behind PDBC have no plans to ever quit their day jobs, so perhaps hardcore beer aficionados are all they need to keep the brewery worthwhile.

Anyone going to be there tonight? The wife & I will be in the neighborhood dropping off the kids, so we may as well stop in for a look-see.

Have to admit I tried one of (or maybe the first) batch of Acerbity (or maybe it was Sailinity) & it was foul. Undrinkable.

However, I've since had a couple good things, including the incredible MN Weisse at ABR, & I'm going to give them another look after avoiding their beers since they opened. One more data point for brewers to "dial in" their recipes *before* letting them loose in the wild.

Yea, Barley Johns is maybe 4 miles north west of there. Leave PDBC take left towards Fairview Ave, take right on Fairview, at 5 way stop sign turn left onto Cty D, see Barley Johns a mileish on your right on the corner of Cty D and Old Hwy 8 (I grew up there, it used to be a A&W, then a Chinese Restaurant by the name of Mel Wah I think... then BJ).

I love PDBC, they can be found on tap at Stouts as mentioned, Grumpy's which is barely a 2 block walk from PDBC and Ward 6 always has a great PDBC lineup and usually the tap release parties are there. Kristen and his wife are awesome people and I got to know them well right after he opened up. I need to stop by there again, I live in Roseville and have no excuse, maybe this week
