Officially closing for business April 18th. Haven't seen the news online yet, but they sent out it via their email newsletter this morning.

A real shame, that was a nice little shop. Sounds like the apocalyptic winter did them in.

I was in here a few weeks back. Nice spot but the fridges were pretty bare and the two bartenders there were the most introverted quiet bartenders I had ever come across.

    Sad nonetheless.

Damn! No wonder it was closed this past Monday at when I tried to go around 6 pm.

They had a great happy hour there. And when the fridges were stocked, a good selection of bottles. They had a ton of great Cantillon last year for their anniversary party. It seems they are closing on their Anniversary date this year.

I'm very surprised since there isn't another dedicated beer store in the area.

Agreed. Not that I was a frequent visitor, but I'm sure I've been there a dozen+ times over the past few years. Location really isn't bad, store was well laid out, generally had good crowds at their events... basically, no obvious flaws with how the business was run. I guess the combination of near-prime Williamsburg rents and the lack of foot traffic this past winter must have been a hefty blow.

Oh interesting! Care to share why? Genuinely curious - I haven't heard any criticism leveled towards that place before. What issues did you find? Might help explain a bit more why they closed.

I actually loved the place because it was a great space and you could drink on premises while paying bottle prices.

Can't think of many beer stores that still do that.
