I can't help but think the proliferation of their cans in stores all over had something to do with this. Seems to me that way too many brewers think they can or should package as their 'next step' in this industry. It appears that time and time again- this distribution model is not working for people... and this seems to be a thing all over too- not just CO.

IMO the crowler machine is your best packaging investment these days (unless you have ridiculous capital backing you)

By no means am I an expert in the economics of running a brewery, but it seems like basic common sense...

I can sell 6 beers in my taproom for $6, gross revenue of $36.

Or I can sell 6 beers in a 6-pack at a liquor store for $12, with a cut of that going to the distributors.

Unless you can scale it massively, I don't know why distribution is an appealing option.

Agreed- I can (man) bearly balance a check book and have a handle on the economics of this

Pretty sure Fate Brewing has been in Deep Economic Trouble for quite a while. Not sure what Thread it was, but @Domingo mentioned it months ago. Thanks for the Update.

On a lighter note, Phil and I are opening up the Amalgam tasting room in a couple weeks. It’s been a long and arduous process, but what started as a passion project has organically grown from a 90 sq ft corner of Powder Keg Brewing Company to a cobranded tasting room and barrel cellar with Westbound & Down dubbed The Cultural Center. Our initial plans are to open only once or twice a month for bottle releases and special events. The Cultural Center opening will showcase eight draught beers and assorted bottles from each of our respective barrel programs. Hope to see some of you there.
