Pracna on Main closes doors

    eh, it wasn't so much the lack of surly as the way the quite publicly pulled their lines when the taproom bill passed back in 2011 in clear opposition to tap rooms. maybe they've softened in more recent years but it left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't been back since.

    Not being around the area in 2011, I don't have a lot of the negative feelings associated. There are at least one or two places I go to fairly frequently that quietly don't serve Surly; not because of any disagreement with the taproom bill, but just because everyone and their brother has Surly so its tougher to distinguish yourself.

    As a person who visits the Twin Cities on an annual basis, I fell in love with Pracna well before the controversy. Well before Surly existed and well before I was a craft beer geek. I didn't stop there this past Christmas and I really hope it does re-open with the same charm and atmosphere.
