Prague Trip -- HELP!!!

    So we will be visiting Prague in a couple of weeks and I think I have a pretty good handle on all the beer spots we'd like to visit (many thanks to the excellent posts in these forums), but I'm a little over-whelmed with where to stay. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to stay while in Prague?

    I guess I should explain what we are looking for in a hotel.... A room/bed for me and the lady, private bath, internet access, not a dump but not expensive.

    It seems that there are rooms at U Medvidku. Does anyone have any experience with this? How are the rooms? How is the value? Anything to be cautious of? What is the difference between a standard and a superior double/twin room?

    My wife & I have visited Prague on 3 separate occasions & each time we have stayed at Prague hotel U Zlateho jelena (the Golden deer), http://www.goldendeer.cz/ This hotel is located just off the old town square (perfect location). The hotel is very comfortable with a very helpful staff & reasonably priced considering its location. There is a great breakfast included in the room price.

    Standard rooms can be a bit on the small side. Sometimes, (if the price isn't too much more) superior rooms are a better option. The superior rooms are larger & often more comfortable. If you stay at the Golden deer, ask for a room off the main pedestrian road. Sometimes the pedestrian street can get a little loud late at night.

    If you have any extra time, I would recommend a day or over night trip to the small village of Cesky Krumlov near the Austrian border. It is a beautiful village.

    For a reference to the Golden Deer hotel location. Go to Tripadvisor and type in Prague. The cover picture shows a view of the old town center with a large two steeple church, the hotel is directly behind the church, (perfect location!)

    Ive always stayed at hotel friday, central location, really good value, decent rooms
