Over the weekend I noticed a note on Fischman Liquors' Facebook page announcing that Prairie Artisan would be starting up distribution again in Chicago and they'd be hosting a kickoff party for them tomorrow night.

Not sure if this is really newsworthy to y'all, but I'm excited! What I've had from them has been really good (especially BOMB! give me more BOMB! please....). Excited to have yet another option for drinking out here!

Congrats. You will now have the opportunity to spend $10 or more on single 12 oz bottles of beer. Awesome

This. When my bottle of Funky Amarillo (or whatever it's called) was rang up as more expensive than my bottle of Crimson Snapper, I was like wtffff??

This is what kills me about Prairie, their pricing is just awful. I go to TX a lot for work and Bomb, Bible Belt, etc are $9 per bottle! That's a 12oz bottle! $54 for a 6 pack? No thanks. I agree that Bomb and Bible Belt are good, but not that good. I'll pass, more for others.

Agree re: pricing. A friend visited from Iowa this past weekend and brought a bottle of Bomb! My first chance to try anything from Prairie. Bomb is a very good imperial stout - but not worth the price of $10 for a 12oz bottle. Lots of equally good beers in that category that cost less, IMO.

Bomb is excellent and worth every penny imo.

I visit the Hyvee's near Des Moines multiple times per year and they always have Bomb in stock, at $9.99 per.
No chance I'll ever try it at that price-point, shit is crazy.

    I smh at $10 singles of BCBS...passing on Prairie is a no-brainer.

Isn't Bomb! typically priced closer to $7 than $10? I'm going to take the lesser opinion here, but I MUCH prefer Bomb! to BCBS.

I kinda doubt Chicago will see it though...

I think Bomb! is totally worth the money. Bible Belt on the other hand...

I was in Dallas less than a month ago. Found Bomb! at 2 different places, $8.99 and $9.49 before tax.

Expensive, but it's a good beer and I figure it's not like it's a regular go to, I've spent more on worse.

But other than Bomb!, it's variants, and wine noir (just wine, the other noirs suck), nothing from prairie is worth buying.

Bomb is great until you've had Abraxas or a handful of other far superior stouts. I'd probably buy it though at $9 per 12 oz. Not like I can ever get Abraxas.

Looking fwd to seeing it on shelves here.

I bet that binnys, if binnys gets prairie, will sell it for $7.99 I don't think they will gouge.

Not to hijack the thread but with Prairie starting to distribute to Chicago and Ohio recently, I wonder if there are plans for Michigan?
