Just picked up my first Prairie Ale which was a sixer of the standard brew. I have had one of them. When I popped the cap I didn't hear any air release and when pouring there was not a single bubble of carbonation either. I trucked on and drank the beer and felt that it was watery and flat. Maybe this is what it is supposed to taste like or the style they are trying to accomplish, I was just wondering if I received a bad bottle or sixer or if this is how it is? Thanks in advance

Ive had almost the entire lineup and out of the bottle it seemed perfect. Had prairie gold on tap at 3 penny taproom a few months back and that was completely flat. Hopefully it was just that batch you had Nacho Libre!

Try another one. I'm guessing it was a one time thing.

Plenty of carbonation in the six pack I drank last month.

Yeah, the Prairie Standard I have had recently has had nice carbonation. Very effervescent and crisp.

Okay, well I hope the remaining 5 bottles are not flat as it appears that was the case. Thanks all for the info!

Sounds like you got a dud!? I've been through a case now between drinking & trading with glowing reports. Since they're twisties +a plastic carrier that bottle could've inadvertently been loosened during transport/stocking. Try another bottle. If it's flat then return the sixer to the retailer for a trade/refund. Cheers!

Yes...we just recently started getting them through a fairly new distributor (Abu Nawas), who deals directly with Shelton Bros. and makes trips to Des Moines once a week.

Doesnt the brewer/owner post here occasionally? I recall seeing him address Prairie questions before, maybe he'll see this.

Sounds like a bad bottle. I'm moving to a pry-off bottle. Just have to knock out the current supply. To be honest, we are going to back off on the production of that beer. It's putting us behind on everything else.

Hmmm must be a bottle issue. I've been drinking my body weight in prairie ales since I discovered them and never ran into problems.

Just started to get into prairie ales and I have been absolutely blown away!! Prairie hop is one of my new favorite beers and 'Murcia is super awesome and a cool idea. These guys know what the fuck they are doing and are going to be all the rage soon.

    *cough* ISO prairie bomb

Can't wait to see any of your beers back in the Buffalo area. So tasty! Just poured the Prarie Hop 2 nights ago and can still taste it now! Thanks and Cheers!
