A lot of stouts present with that metallic taste when they're too cold. No beer should be served ice cold...unless you're pounding an adjunct lager after yard mowing on a fire hot day.

I agree 10.50 is outrageous. But if they are priced rather properly (7.99-8.49) then they are close to most stuff like The Abyss (14.49 is 20% markup per case in KS). So really, if a Bomb were 22oz instead of 12, it would be around 15.99. EDIT: But I guess Bomb isn't Barrel Aged like The Abyss...this puts a new spin on my opinion! But, regardless...7.99 to 8.99 is reasonable considering the quality of this stout.

A lot of retailers will try to go to 30 points and up if the beer is "LIMITED." Some believe in this, some do not. I personally DO NOT. I will always use standard markup (or round that .49 to .99 if I only get like 3 bottles of...say BA Rasputin).

20% is standard mark-up in Kansas for Craft. Some will use 25%. Adjunct is 15-18%. PAA doesn't get distributed here so I do not know exactly how much a case costs. I would guess on a 7.99 price tag that it is ~80 (if they are 12 bottle cases). 80/12 = 6.66. 6.66*1.20= 8.0 (or 7.99). If they are close to 75/case then it would be 6.25*1.20 (7.49). Alternatively, some will try to get 25-30% points like I said. Also, the price of a case may differ in areas.

It was $5.99 a bottle at Whole Foods in Oakland, CA a year ago. No limit.

I've seen them go for $10-11 here in San Jose.

It is quite high, but it is better than most BA stouts on its own. I'd argue that it is wonderful to have a stout that good without the gimmick, and worth the extra few dollars.
