Recently had this on tap thinking it was a barrel aged beer. Then I got a bottle and it says nothing about barrel aging but rather "aged on". Were these spirit barrels, fresh oak, bright tank?

    from the website…

Bomb! is an imperial stout aged on espresso beans, chocolate, vanilla beans, and ancho chile peppers. All the flavors meld to create a truly unique beer. The peppers add just the right amount of heat to compliment the intense coffee and chocolate flavors.

Unless you were mistaken and had Noir.

Aged "on" all those ingredients; agd "in" stainless steel, I presume.

    Prairie BOMB! has no barrel.

Pirate BOMB! was aged in rum barrels.

Prairie Noir, Vanilla Noir, and Coffee Noir were aged in bourbon barrels.

I believe there are other BOMB! variants (bourbon, etc.) that will be coming out later this year.

Prairie Bomb is one of the best non barrel aged beers I've ever had!
