Prairie Bourbon Paradise

I had my one and only Saturday afternoon with a buddy. I thought it was pretty damn tasty. Very flavorful but I thought pretty drinkable, especially for 15.9%. Coconut was there but not overwhelming.

 

Has anyone else had a bottle gush a little bit when they opened it? I cracked my first tonight and got some immediate overflow.

 

Had one the other night overall it was awesome. People wait in lines for worse beers.
But it was a bit thin to be honest. I’d still pick up more if it was around tho.

 

Same, slight overflow, pity to lose the half ounce because it was great.

 

Wait - what? A Prairie stout that has anything like foam or a head?

 

Saw it tonight. Was very tempted but passed based on price. Went with Coconut Trip in the Woods instead.

 

Wish I had seen it!

 

Around here a bomber of Narwhal Trip To The Woods - any variant - is about the same $ per ounce as Bourbon Paradise, maybe a few pennies more. I like my high-ABV beers in smaller doses, and I liked Bourbon Paradise slightly more, so that's the way I'd go. YMMV

 

If I hadn't found both at the same time and Bell's BA Cherry Stout and had to get a bottle of champagne for tomorrow night for my wife, I would have bought Paradise.

Pretty sure this is one of the smallest releases Prairie has done in a while. No actual info to back it up, but the places I usually have no problems buying from have been sold out for a while. These places still have all the Noirs but no Bourbon Paradise.

 

All of my shops sold out at a 1pp limit very quickly. Noirs went to no limit quickly

 

People in Georgia claiming to have been able to buy it by the case in the trade forums. No actual haul pics to prove it though. One of my local shops had BA Prairie by the case for last years releases but only got one case of these and did 1 per person.

 

This beer is REALLY GOOD in my opinion. I highly recommended it. We got a fair amount in Northern California.

 

While I liked it and stocked up, I like several other Prairie stouts better, such as BA Bomb, Pirate Bomb, Coffee Noir, and Pirate Noir. I'm hoping that aging Bourbon Paradise improves the flavor a bit, as it did with the others.

 

I recall hearing that Coffee Noir was limited to Oklahoma. The only Noirs we got were Prairie and Vanilla.
