I personally could drink this all day, but might have to sell one of the kids to afford that luxury...

I thought Cherry Funk was excellent. Maintained a very "prairie-esque" vinous character through until the clean aftertaste. I actually prefer it to BiErica because, like I mentioned, the aftertaste is clean. I think Prairie is getting better and better with nailing the carb/ mouthfeel of these funk/ sour beers.

I'm very glad this wasn't a pucker monster. I'd like to be able to drink a couple of these without destroying my senses.

If you all want sour, go get the original Prairie Gold. It's an absolute lacto, champagne like sour bomb.

I think all "sours" should come with the ph level next to the ABV.

While I'm a fan of more information on bottles (or at least having it available), like IBUs, pH is only correlated with perceived sourness rather than an actual measure. Given two beers with the same pH, one can taste wildly more sour than the other.

This thread in the main forum had some decent discussion on the topic.

I know this is an old thread but I just stumbled upon it. I know its a trek but Moonshiners in McAlester carries a lot of the Prairie beers as well as all the other good shit you can't get that far south. I lived in Kingston fro years, I know how hard it is to get good beer down there. If you don't mind the drive, Moonshiners is the closest good beer store to Durant in OK.

I have a feeling homeboys post was directed towards me, which is fine and all. Just say it.

Regarding cherry funk I'll re-visit it in two weeks-ish or so. I'm drinking a FGM now and I had the same mixed feelings about it when it first dropped. Honestly, this beer is getting better day by day and I hope cherry funk does the same for me.

FGM mosaic hops have fallen off the nose, getting sour in a good way fo sho.. but not overpowering by any means(like most sours). Really digging this.. gonna pickup some to age. I still miss C&C CHASE IF YOU ARE READING THIS.

    Cheers,
    Anthony

Had this at Nobi earlier and dug it, not your typical cherry sour. Certainly does see to have some standard Prairie notes and keeps the cherry in check.

I picked up two from Specs, Walnut Hill, on Saturday. Picked up two (512) whiskey barrel pecan porters as well and left a few sitting there...

Funky gold has become significantly more sour and tasty than when it was released. It's definitely a better beer. Hoping some age does something similar to cherry.

I know it's pretty premature and small-sample-size-ish, but the Cherry Funk I had on tap today was significantly more sour than the bottle I opened the day it was released in Oklahoma. After two glasses, my palate was pretty wrecked from the funk/ pucker. It was reminiscent of sucking on a warhead candy.
