Just seen on their Facebook page that Craft Beer Importers will soon be representing, and bringing in beers from Prairie Artisan Ales.

Sure that’ll make some, a lot, a few of you happy (delete as necessary).

I'm hoping they aren't in 4 packs like the latest Evil Twin releases. Circa $30.00 for a 4 pack is beyond me :grimacing:

I hear that. Really wish stores would break them up into singles at least.

They'd certainly sell more as singles!

Just realised who the new rep is in BC for Craft, and now it makes sense why Prairie are coming to Western Canada. This guy did a great job when he was with another agency in Alberta, brought some really great stuff in. The moment he left, so did the good stuff, and now it's back to the regular lineups. Hopefully he has the same effect with Craft!

Have yet to try anything from these guys yet but have seen their regular line-up on the shelves in VT.

Another great brewery in Alberta! Far above my beer budget for the month already though! When is the first batch expected?

The problem is that some of the Evil Twin 4-packs are above 11.9% abv, so they receive the higher Markup from the AGLC - hence the higher price. Unfortunately AGLC won't allow us to sell as singles (as they come in 4-packs), however, stores are encvouraged to break them up into singles.

As to the Prairie they will be cheaper - however the Bomb is also above the 11.9% - which will be slightly higher

    768800 Prairie Artisan Ales Prairie Birra - 4pk 355mL
768801 Prairie Artisan Ales Prairie Ale - 500mL
768802 Prairie Artisan Ales Prairie Bomb - 355mL

Hi Chris, any chance that you will be also bringing Prairie into BC soon?

Yes, these will also come to BC, just not the Bom (as it has above 11.9%)

Sorry if this is a question you get asked a lot - but why does that prevent it being imported? If Bois can make it into BC, I'm not sure what's preventing bomb. Would it just be an unattractively high markup?

Any idea on timing when these will be coming? Pretty excited to get my hands on some bombs!

the BCLDB currently has no policy for "high alcohol beers" (above 11.9%) so no beers above that are allowed. according to BCLDB the Bois was a "shipping error".

ETA would be Later in October to early November

How did Singularity (14.6% on the label) make it onto shelves this yr then? And Utopias (which the BCLDB held a raffle to purchase)? etc etc There's more than a handful of high abv beers that have sold here.
