    Sounds mildly interesting.

Ive been debating starting a thread on here to "test the waters" on other markets perception of Prairie.

Here in Houston, I can confidently say that I can easily go acquire Pe-Kan, Paradise, BDay BOMB!, and Phantasmagorajjfjanfb.

This seems like a different trend from the response Prairie would receive just 12-months ago here in HOU. I wonder if it has anything to do with consumers getting tired of the pricing/quantity strategy that Prairie operates under.

Me personally - I was done paying $10 for a single 12oz. bottle 12months ago. Esspecially when all their Bomb variants were tasting too similar anyway.

Has the perception of Prairie changed advocates???

Let me buy a 4 pack of Prairie Standard for $10 and it would be a staple in my fridge.

I think it has. We may be the minority on BA as they still sell, but I think a lot of us have expressed discontent with their prices for a good while now.

I enjoy their stouts. They're generally very good. However I rarely pay for them as there are simply just as good - to better options available at a better price. Drinking Birthday Bomb right now...meh. It's good and I don't feel terrible paying $8.99 for the bottle...but I would have been just as satisfied paying $12 for a bomber of Big Bad Baptist or something similar. That's where I'm at with Prairie right now. I can't comment on any of their sour offerings as I'm not a fan.

    Completely share your sentiment.

I havent purchased a bottle of BDay Bomb! (yet? - not sure?!) Its the price thing. How is it though? Better then last years?!

Again, I think it's good...just not any better than offerings that are much cheaper. I didn't have last year's so I can't comment there.

Had birthday bomb on tap and bottle. Prefer regular bomb.

It's much sweeter than regular bomb (caramel) and tends to mute some of the other flavors. I like sweetness in beers like this, so it's not horrible to me. But I could see how others prefer regular Bomb.

Yeah I think the BBomb has more sweetness, but my god that Pe-Kan was liquid pecan syrup. That said it was probably the best pecan beer I have ever had. That is a bottle you pop open after a meal and share with a few people.

Interesting take on Pe-Kan. I had it on draft (Conservatory in downtown Houston) and thought it was just all right. Definitely didn't get the pecan flavor you're describing.

I've held off buying a bottle. And - as we both know - it can be easily acquired at many shops that sell better-craft beer here in Houston.

I do however, love keeping stouts around for holidays and special occasions. And a pecan-syrup full-flavored stout would definitely fit that requirement.

Pekan blah compared to bomb. Had both on tap at prairie in Tulsa

You found Prison Rodeo? I have been trying to keep an eye for it in Texas but recognize that not every release makes it here. What were your thoughts on the beer.

Lots of coffee up front. The hoppy-ness came in a bit later. I like coffee beers so this one was good, in my opinion. However, the coffee isn't subtle.

4-packs have been popping up around San Antonio and I grabbed one. I thought it was great. Big coffee, as it should be in my opinion for a coffee "IPA". I grabbed a 4-pack for $15 at a local bottle shop, then saw 4-packs at HEB for $25!!! The lady in charge of the beer and wine department seemed very indifferent when I told her the price difference.
