Saw Okie Coffee on the shelf this evening...with tax for a 12 oz. bottle would have been about $12.50. Sorry, I don't care how good it is, when I can grab a bomber of Clown Shoes The Good, The Bad , the Unidragon for about $11, it's a no-brainer. I know others have commented on the price of Prairie beers per oz., so hopefully they can adjust their marketing/pricing to be able to compete in an ever toughening market. Until then, I'm on the cheaper pastures beers that are just as good.

I just can't do it with them anymore. The 22oz bottles of Hop, Merica, and such were tolerable back when they first hit in TX, but then they switched to 500ml and made the price per oz even higher. Just about every 12oz BA beer they put out is $1 per oz and completely ridiculous IMO. Bomb! is an absurd $8 per 12oz bottle while sitting next to comparable 4 packs of stouts like FIS and FBS for a dollar or two more. I have noticed their beers starting to collect dust at the places I shop, so I feel like more people are starting to realize their price tag isn't worth it.

Agree on it all except Vanilla Noir. That one is worth every penny.

I don't either... Bomb should be five bucks at most for the 12 oz bottle. That stuff isn't gold. I've never been the biggest PA fan anyway, but the price just makes it really easy to pass up most of their stuff.

@StArnoldFan Agreed. Aren't they technically a contract brewery though? Is that the justification?

I'm sipping on BA Bomb! at the moment... wishing I were drinking something else, but can't bring myself to drain pour a $10 beer.

Totally agree with the sentiments here - Won't be buying any more Prairie for the foreseeable future.

I think it's more about their distributor. Shelton bros

@StArnoldFan yea, they're pricey, but there's other stuff distro'd by Shelton Bros that's not as expensive as Prairie

They were for a while but I was under the impression once they moved into their Tulsa facility that ended.

I believe the lion's share of their beers are still produced in Krebs...

Their excuse on bomb is that all the ingredients make it an expensive beer. Either way the only beers that I have seen it truly worth it for the price tag are Vanilla Noir and possibly BA Bomb

It was good and so is AB Noir but it's just so hard to justify when BCBS or KBS are cheaper options.

Agreed. The last Prairie beer I bought was Balcones Bomb. Their beers are good, but way too pricey for me. Although it seems people still buy it up so I don't see their prices coming down. It's strange, but Chase posted he didn't know why his beer was so expensive here saying "I'll look in to it." He hasn't posted in this forum since. That was about a year ago.

GF was traveling for work and Fred's Blend was available at a London Pub for 10 pounds so about $15... I couldn't say no especially when they had a 33% takeaway discount. Pretty sure it was cheaper for her to buy it there than it was in OK

All of the beer in TX is made at Krebs Brewing Co. That is the only place approved by the TABC that makes Prairie beer.

In general high prices keep me from trying new beers. I'm just too cheap.

Since I'm ticker, I'll try them all along as the price isn't too steep, but they are all one & dones. No way I would pay what people do in say, Illinois or Florida. So many equivalent or better options out there for cheaper over in Missouri & Arkansas.

WTF are you talking about!!!???!!! While it may have cost more than it's worth I've never even heard of a BA Bomb! being drain pour worthy.

I buy Bomb! every now and then and its yummy, had one last night as a mater of fact. Not here to defend their high prices, just saying they do make good beer. Well stouts, I'm not a saison fan. My $0.02.
