Started thinking as its almost August what the next Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout variant will be. They've done vanilla, raspberry(bramble), and cherry. What does everyone think the next variant will be?

They should do a kind of nut, like walnuts / almonds. I think that would DEFINITELY go with the chocolate and coffee flavors and aromas in the beer.

They'll make it a flavor that's perfectly evocative of pointless speculation.

Something along the lines of Indra Kunindra would be awesome but I'm not holding my breath... I'd love to see a Belgian BCBS too. Still waiting on that BC Barleywine as well!

Not saying that I think this is going to be the next release, but I'd be curious to try a cinnamon or gingerbread variant... if anyone could nail it, it'd be GI.

Who's to say they'll even bottle another one? Maybe they'll just rest on their laurels with regular BCS, Coffee, and the upcoming BC-Barleywine.

Does it really matter?............90% of it will most likely end up in New York anyway,to sit on shelves till the next year's release. Meanwhile......people from around the country will happily trade their left nut for it,people in New York will boast about having to move cases of it out of their way,to get to the beer they actually like, and people in Illinois will savor the few bottles they managed to scrape together after camping out overnight in liquor store parking lots.on "dumbshit Friday"when AB conveniently decides to release it.

The answer we are looking for here is: Hype*Infinity!

Maybe they should just call the new variant HYPE! .......... Fill the bottles with air...........and teach the HYPESTERS a funny little lesson?

Then again,if the bottle said Bourbon County on it......prolly still get 5 ratings.........plenty of people will surely still be able to 'smell' the 'rare'!.

Hyperbole?.......Yeah! Sour Grapes?..........Perhaps! Tired of AB already?..........Damn right!

Hazelnuts. I think it would go very well with bcbs. It'd have to be really hazelnuts tho, not hazelnut flavored coffee

Ha- pretty good. FWIW, though, it's the regular BCBS that NY was flooded with. The specialty ones, like Cherry Rye and Coffee, I never even saw there.

As long as we're speculating I'll have to say Maple, too. I think that would go pretty damn nicely in that beer. Here's hoping that they get their distribution worked out this time...

And if they do name the next beer Hype they should have a picture of the folks in Illinois on the label. Only fair that the ones who started the hype train should get some credit for it.

So sorry we in other parts of the country got invited to your no longer private party this time around.

Hey, I can get BCBS, how about a trade? Got any Blabaer? Am I doing this right?

That is surprising- you really do live in a beer mecca!. Great beer, too (I did manage to snag a few in NJ). At this point I am just happy with the regular stuff (still picking up four-packs, myself- 4 for the price of 1 Coffee  ).

You do have me wondering now about what treasures I might find when I visit my folks in the Catskills next month- could there be some out of the way spot that still hasn't moved their allotment? Probably not, but I will be sure to check things out.
