Premier League BIF, gauging interest

    As we now have the full 20 teams for the 2013-14 PL season, I was wondering if there was any interest in a PL BIF. Thoughts on rules are:

    Positions 1-4 receive beer from positions 5-14 in a to be determined amount.

    Positions 18-20 receive beer from positions 15-17 in a to be determined amount (they are going to need something to drink after being relegated).

    Each team will be partnered with a rival, with a minimum of 11 ounces of beer being sent to the rival for each point they earn off of you. 2 wins = 66 ounces, a win and a draw = 44 going one way and 11 going the other. Rivals will be determined by actual rivalry and competitiveness. So clearly Tottenham and Arsenal will be paired as will the Manchester clubs and Liverpool and Everton. That leaves Chelsea with no clear rival in the top clubs so I will choose a rival based on competitiveness.

    If a Premier League team is eliminated from the FA Cup by a lower division team, that person must send a box of a to be determined amount to the person who's team eventually knocks out that lower division team.

    We would need 20 people for this. I think it would be fun. If you are interested, let me know.

    I was hoping it would be pick your own. That might make it harder to get people to pick some of the newly promoted teams, but that is why the relegated teams get beer.

    I don't pay real close attention, wanted to pick Wiggan because I always seem to watch their matches... relegated. Would take Tottenham as that's who I normally pull for if no hardcore fan shows up.

    This sounds like a really cool idea. Id like in if possible and take chelsea as that is my team. If the guy before me hadnt asked for the hot spurs i would have asked for them so i could root for dempsey.

    I should have said that I would be taking spurs, but if that is the only way to get silverX in I'll take one of the newly promoted teams.

    im in, didnt get my shit the past 2 years (grrrrr!) been involved in an EPL BIF 3 years in a row

    hoping for a good season!

    in the past, everyone sends first place X amount of ounces. then 1 sends to last, 2nd to 19th, and so forth

    I'm interested, just not 100% sure on how this one works. Eyes are on Liverpool.

    Edit: aanndd I just realized someone took LFC, I'll have to reconsider once I figure out how this works.

    I'm surprised it took so long for ManUtd to be taken. I may want in, saw that Arsenal was taken so I gotta choose a terrible team now since the top 5 teams in next seasons table are already gone.

    Agreed -- I'm a big supporter of Cardiff City, but I may as well just run a LIF and give away beer instead of signing up. (No, I'm not going to root for them to be relegated just so I can get beer.)

    I would, however, potentially be up for some prop bets, like Cardiff to stay up, or the rivalry bet described above vs. Swansea.
