Eh. Craft beer drinkers are craft beer drinkers. At least they are supporting good shit.

Usually even at a craft beer spot the self proclaimed cool kids (currently Hipsters) are drinking stuff like Lonestar and PBR.

I don't agree, but even if that's true, it still keeps craft beer spots in business.
Conversely, I see a hell of a lot of hipsters at Petrol. They don't serve PBR and Lone Star. If you support local business and drink good beer than good for you, no matter who you are.

I've seen a lot of folks at Petrol who ask for Miller Lite too... :shudders: lol

I acutally love Lonestar and PBR. PBR probably only because this one bar has 1.50 pbr pints everyday all day. it's awesome. And Lonestar to me has more flavor than more "macro" beers or whatever you wanna call it.

I personally would rather spend $5 over $2, on a crappy beer but cost is what is keeping new bars from opening, even though there is better beer out there at a higher cost, the profit is not the same with cheaper kegs of bud and lonestar. Although in the long run what you can make is good, the short time scheme of things seems to be undesirable to many.

According to the owner, this was busy the first week but after that it slowed down, the first week it was mostly people that lived in the area wanting to give it a shot and welcoming a new business (The Heights is a very nice neighborhood, all about community). He is saying things are back to being slow, but in a city like Houston, one can argue how hard things are to operate. Texas is the one place restaurants/bars can non compete with off premise wine sales because of a huge power house like SPECS. SPECS can sell wine to a restaurant cheaper than a distributor will directly to that restaurant just because of sheer volume, and this is the same case with beer. 50+ locations buying a product vs 1-2 locations.

Hey, I like to share the good stuff! lol

And Azzy jokes are only funny if infrequent and well timed. They are getting played out.

If you make it to Petrol for the Christmas party, we'll share some brews.

I felt that joke was clever, but it was the first I made about your name. Its just a running joke that has probably run its course. I think most of us on here have done our fair share of hoarding so its just fun and games.

I thought it was funny too. Made me chuckle and I don't take the jokes to heart. Theres one of us here you bought up 90+ of BCBS. So I mean I don't feel too terrible for what I did once.

Well I obviously would do the same but while I'm at a bar down the street from UTSA, where it would be hard to find a bar with good beer and hanging out with friends, I'm not gonna spend $5 on a Corona just because it's more expensive. If I'm gonna drink cheap beer I'm not gonna pay more than its worth. It's a cool bar that kids my age hang out in and that's all. No sense it trying to show off how cool I am that I can buy more expensive shit beer.
Sorry if I come off as a dick. Just saying. When in Rome.

I picked up a growler of Santa Fe Java Stout... but it was hard to pass up the 512 Pecan Porter they hooked up right when I got there...

I also picked up a bomber of Wicked Beaver Dream Weaver Cream Ale... haven't opened it yet.. but it was the first time I'd seen one of their beers in Houston.
