Hello: I'll be in Cambridge one day this weekend, and am wondering whether there's a bottle shop near Inman Square that has the Pretty Things X Ales and maybe the Stingo in stock. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Downtown Wine & Spirits in Davis Sq., Somerville seems like your closest best bet. I don't think you'll find the X Ales, though, as these were one time brews and I think probably all sold out by now. And the Stingo is a collaboration with Boulevard and I think only packaged by them, so look for it with the other Boulevard beers. Pretty Things St. Botolph's Town is very similar, just without the sour component, so don't overlook that one.
Also within striking distance of Inman Sq is Liquor World in Porter Sq, which would be worth an inquiry. The other day I saw a couple of 1945 X ales and the Stingo at Martignetti's on Soldiers Field Rd in Brighton, and they might still have a couple of the 1838 X ales too, but I didn't notice.
I still see the X ales where I am in dedham (whole foods) so it hasn't completely sold out yet. Can't speak for Cambridge, though.
