I didn't realize that each beer's page showed what it's average on appearance, smell, taste, mouthfeel, and drinkability were. That's kinda of neat to look at.

Drink that shit man! It's a good stout I think, I thought it was interesting to see it so high also. But at the time people were still learning how to make really good beers.

On a related note, the most recent BA magazine mentions that they may make their data access APIs available to developers in 2014. I assume that would make it pretty easy to make these kinds of lists. It'd be great to have access to the mountain of beer data they're sitting on...

I used to do snapshots. I have, in Excel:

    10/15/2009
    3/15/2010
    6/17/2010

    8/10/2010 (New scoring)
    11/10/2010 (New scoring)
    2/11/2011 (New scoring)

    3/1/2011
    6/1/2011
    10/10/2011
    1/6/2012
    6/14/2012
    11/13/2012

I used to have a lot more time on my hands haha. I have emailed this excel file out before. If anyone wants it, post your email here or BM it to me and I'll send it along. I used to keep track of which beers from the top 100 I had ticked, which is why I used Excel. Not nearly as long lasting or comprehensive as the snapshots already posted in this thread, unfortunately.

Sam Adams Lager and Guinness in the top 50 in 2001. LOL.

Storm King was one of the beers that got me into craft back in 2005-2006? Great beer, but I pass over it now because there are so many other beers that are great.

2004, there were 3 dopplebocks in the top 15. Interesting to see how popular styles have changed over the years.

IMHO, any list that doesn't start with Westy 12 is suspect.

It would be interesting if BA did a top 100 retired beers list.

When I started here in late 2003, Storm King was #2, Westy 12 was #1.

Anyone else notice the now-defunct Heavyweight Brewing Company's Imperial Porter at #32? That's sad that a brewery who, at one time, had a Top 50 beer on BA could go under. Just shows you how BA ratings affect people's buying decisions exponentially more these days.
