I used this Priming sugar calculator, put in Bock Beer for 5.5 gallons ,which was 4.80 Ozs Corn sugar and 8 of my beer are flat so far,how could that be?? Before I was putting 5 ozs and I was only getting just a couple, sounds like to me it would be lot more than 5 ozs anyway especially when its 5.5 gallons,I drank it anyway because I don't want to throw money away.Any ideas? Can't even come close to believing I am having so much trouble,,everything is sanitized as before, leaving 5 minutes instead of two on sanitizing.

What was the OG and how long have you let it carb? Temperature?

Are you saying 8 of the bottles were flat, but some from that batch were fine? If so, then either your priming sugar wasn't mixed well, or some of the bottles weren't capped properly.

If not (i.e. if all of the bottles from that batch were flat), how much time did you give the bottles to carbonate and at what temperature?

I use 22oz bottles and learned to stir the mix every 3 bottles. I also did this with a hard cider and jamican ginger beer and both carbonated great after two weeks. I go by 1oz corn sugar/per gallon.

How are you introducing the priming sugar? How much time do you give the bottles to prime, and at what temperature?

Sorry fellows got called away to work,,I never got the Original gravity as this beer has turned out always great before.I am capping with my NEW in line capper and Its doing a Far better job I mean really tight on the bottles,I realized I didn't stir it at all but with 5.5 gallons I think I will go an 1oz per gallon then another 1/2 oz for the final 1/2 gallon.Oh I let it carbonate 2 weeks as this is what the Recipe said but will set it longer at 60 degrees and its set and stays at a constant 60~62

I Just need to keep my Big Spoon sanitized while I am bottling and stir regular like Brewday said! Yeah it turned out about 18 bottles were flat,,but I will STIR my corn sugar in better and take more time with that next time!! THanks to All Always,Larry

Yeah, stirring is a good idea. But also, warming those bad boys up to about 70F for a week or two might help. You mentioned keeping them at 60F, that's a little cool to carb.
