I brewed a 5 gallon batch of an English old ale from a brewery near me. I'm kegging half of the batch and bottling the other 2.5 gallons. Based on a calculator I found online, I'm supposed to use .5 cups of dextrose to prime the 2.5 gallons I plan to bottle; however, I do not know how much water to boil for the solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Thank you! Do you have a link or formula for future reference?

I've always gone with the highly scientific amount of "just enough to dissolve all of the sugar". Boils and cools back down faster that way.
