I recently decided to try a false bottom in my igloo cooler to replace the bazooka tube I had been using. I had always thought the bazooka tube was an interim solution.
Once it arrived, I decided to try to do some updated deadspace measurements and I was quite dismayed at the horrible flow rate. Once I double checked everything, I found some swarf was embedded in the elbow which came as part of the false bottom. I didn't see it until I finally expelled it, nor did it dislodge the first time I tried to blow it out.

FWIW - 3quarts with the bazooka. 1-2 quarts with the false bottom. I'm still working out what hardware I want to use.
