Dropped by Proclamation Brewing Thursday and picked up bombers of Derivative Mosaic and Derivative Galaxy. I understand most of the bottles are going into distribution which is good news for people who can't make it to the brewery and want to try this outstanding American Pale Ale. Of course if you do get to the brewery you can also try Derivative Citra which is only available there. Coming soon according to their FB page will be bombers of their DIPA, The Stalk. Yeah baby!

Yup I stopped by for a round of bottles (Galaxy, Mosaic and the Adelia Warehouse Ale) and found out about the upcoming bottling. That will be nice, I'm a fan of the Stalk! Packaging Tendril is long overdue, but I am thinking they have been slow in doing so because they are going to drop this in a more crushable 4/6-pack format when they either expand or contract this out.

To my knowledge they won't be contracting anytime soon. Awhile back they had a deal come apart with Newport Storm. Dave wanted to brew all the batches there and they wanted him to brew one, show em how he wanted it, then they'd take it from there. He wasn't cool with that and I can't blame him. Last time I asked about possibly moving to cans he told me that it was not possible for a while because of the minimum can order was some absurd number and they have no place to store them. With all that aside they are absolutely killing the RI scene. Head and shoulders above everyone else making beer in the state.

I'm fairly certain Dave wouldn't want that private conversation and confidential information posted in this public forum...

Any estimates on how long it will take for these to hit Distro?

Also a comment on cans. I saw a video with Jacks Abby and they ordered 1 million cans. So yea the order sizes are ridulous. Plus a brewery needs place to store them.

Proclamation is clearly RI's best and glad to hear NS is still making beer.

Super stoked to finally have Proclamation available in bombers again. Derivative, in my opinion, is the best beer in RI.

Had Derivitave Galaxy for the fist time in a long time, loved it even more than I remember. I'm still sitting on a stalk from a couple weeks back that will definitely not make it through the weekend. Anyone go last night for Harper 2?

Yep, it was very easy. I showed up at about 4:30, expecting a massive line, and there were about 30 in front of me. Once they opened at 5, I was in and out by 5:15 with my two Harpers, and a couple of Stalk and Derivative.

Also had a similar experience last night with the Harper release. Showed up around 4:45 and fairly quick in/out considering. Opened one last night and it was definitely amazing, I'll definitely be watching out for future sour releases this spring. Proclamation's sours easily match (or exceed) some of my favorite west coast sours, truly impressive stuff.

Can anyone give me a price check? How much are bottles of Derivative?

    Cheers!

Made my first trip there on Saturday. Place was great, got lucky as they still had 12 bottles of Harper available at open. Liked all the beers I tried, I will be back.

Scored a bottle of Galaxy and Mosaic last week at Nikki's. Both are excellent. These will help to put RI on the map for hoppy beers.

All of their beers are great, and it's not just all hops. They are a little limited right now with the Rhode Island 72oz max law. I can see them getting busier if that law is eventually increased/removed. I'd have a hard time driving 4 hours round trip to tree house for just 72oz, and I imagine that's why Proclamation has remained predominantly a local spot for so long (a whole 2 years). However, the popularity is increasing, and good for them!

Just had an Adelia, and it was very nice. Haven't had a stinker from Proclamation yet.

Yup, in my times visiting they are definitely a 5-tool player in making good beer...

    Sours: check
    Hoppy: check
    Dark/stouts: check
    BA beer: check
    Session: check

The 6th tool would be lagers, maybe they will eventually make one of those as well!

they'll set you up with a tasting of whatever they have on. $5 or you can pay $10 and take a glass home with you. This will let you try what they got and decide what you like. They sometimes have sours in bottles that aren't part of the tastings but i don't think that's the case this week as I'm pretty sure everything is sold out on that front.
