I've been trading for years and haven't had an issue. Recently (within the last two weeks) I agreed to a trade with someone and setting things up went well. I shipped and he indicated he'd ship the same day. I haven't received or heard anything in about a week, so I went to check his profile and got the following message: This user's profile is not available. What exactly does this mean? Was he kicked off BA? Did he delete his account? Any insight would be helpful. It's only been a week, but reaching out to him has yielded no response. I probably got burned on this one ... it's bound to happen, I suppose.
If you got a phone number and/or email address, I would try to use one or both of those to contact the other trader right away. His account going AWOL may (hopefully will) not mean you won't receive your beer.
My first instincts based on what you described sounds like he just burned ya. Hopefully that's not the case however...hopefully you didn't send out anything too big
The OP contacted me via BM, the user in question was banned. @Mississipping is going to try to contact him through phone / text. If he does not get his beer the banned users info will be posted.
@blue-dream I'm curious...What was the user banned for? Is it a permanent ban? Is it possible the banned user has additional ongoing trades on BA?
Just as a quick update, this was successfully resolved. I reached out via the phone number the banned user provided when we set up the trade and he came through with everything on his end. I'm quite surprised by the outcome, but my "I won't trade with you if you don't provide a valid phone number" method proved useful for the first time. I'd encourage others to adopt the policy and shoot a text to confirm before trading. Thanks @blue-dream for info about the user.
It was for trying to sell beer, and he only had 1 trade open. So hopefully nothing else pops up. @Mississipping glad this turned out alright! Locking down.
