Didn't you also get additional karma for reviewing a new brewery or reviewing a store in a new state?

 

Yeah, but there hasn't been a new state for over 50 years.

I hear you, but I'm holding off on worrying until there's word that the update is complete. If I don't get my mug back at that point, then I'll start getting angry.

 

I can't remember what I had, but I want a mug also.

 

This site has lost about 1/2 it's charm. How can I see what I've reviewed or what others have?

 

And where the heck did the karma and profile image go? Not cool after 7 years here.

 

Karma is gone for now, supposedly something different is in the works.

Yeah, I rather liked the karma. I like the phpbb upgrade (although it's missing some key features) and can't imagine why it wasn't enacted sooner.

Good job on that.

However, karma had to do with how much you contributed to the site. I've contributed a lot. I really don't want a facebook "like" type of system. If I wanted to post about beer on facebook I would have been spending all my energy posting about beer on facebook. Interfacing with modern media is fine, but please don't turn this place into facebook. I liked it just fine as beer advocate, minus the archaic non-phpbb forums. The old beer advocate had a lot of things going for it that "the other place" still doesn't. Upgrade. Don't change it completely into something else. Remember, facebook sucks royally. Don't become a drunken version of facebook.

This conversation has gone all over the place but I have not seen the original post addressed. I have read all the updates and unless I am misunderstanding something I haven't seen anything regarding beer stats in profiles. I was very interested in the type, state, brewery, place breakdown of my reviews that we used to see. Is this something that is in the works for the new site? It is one feature I really miss.
