New from Sam Calagione, the BA bros, and a host of others:

While the video mostly includes non-brewing stuff, it sounds like it's gonna have a lot of good brewing ideas. As a novice homebrewer, I'm pretty excited.

It looks good. Glad to see little guy Selders in action again!

I guess that I would have probably been excited, as well, when I first started brewing.

Now? I'd be more excited if they just concentrated on brewing kick-ass beer with new techniques, like NEIPA, and new ingredients, like new hops and all the new yeasts and bacteria out there.

As it is, this reminds me of Brew Dogs. "Let's make beer with the weirdest ingredients that we can find an make it in the most unusual ways that we can imagine." I guess that makes for good TV, 'cause brewing beer is pretty fucking boring, but it doesn't teach people to make great beer. It just gets them to try to make beer with weird shit.

Hey Sam, 2005 called and they said they want as much extreme beer as you can brew.

Hopefully it's good. I found his book Xtreme Brewing to be chock full of inconsistencies – measuring units were all over the place, and a ton of spelling errors. I guess that's the graphic designer in me, but I can't look past that kind of stuff. To me, that just says that they half-assed it. I still brewed 2 recipes out of the book that turned out well, so there's that, but there's a lot of stuff in there that I didn't trust.

I thumbed through it. Didn't seem useful. A bunch of beer-with-spices glossy photos to spruce up some mediocre looking extract recipes without much to say about process. The video doesn't entice me much, either.
