So as black friday is coming soon i was thinking if a 2013 prop and 2014 prop plus something limited would pull a mexican cake set? I was thinking the plus one would be either another bcbs variety or a 2014 vanilla. Or am i just way off? Thanks for the help!

No. If nothing else you're way off dollar wise

I'd think 5-6 props for the cake set

Off. Although excellent, 15,000(?) count local distro beer probably won't pull BA Cakes unless you find a generous trader

    eh disagree.

last year Prop went 1:1 for Fou many times and Fou has been going 1:1 with many of these BA Cakes.

bottle count is only part of the equation, demand is the other and the BCBS variants have unreal demand. I don't exactly think 2 Prop + will get the set, but maybe like 4:3 would do it

if someone has 5 Props or 5 Vanillas or some combination of both, I would trade my BA Cake set for that.

The only issue is could 4 props land a BVDL seeing as a cake set could. I don't think it could but I don't think its far off.

that works when the other beers aren't in high demand; BA Cakes are

so 4 Props ($80) doesn't even equal 3 BA Cakes ($90) and there are a LOT less BA Cakes around. I mean, a lot.

indicate that 4 Prop to 1 BVDL is pretty close. I know Prop isn't in all those lists, but similar bottles are (LP, Fou, etc)

I'm nearly sure I could have traded 4 Fou for Cake set and again those traded 1:1 with Prop for a while (still are probably close)

well, I think there are pricing inequities there. the $20 retail price for Prop makes it incredible underpriced compared to demand; it would have sold 100% as fast at $30 or $35. and I know about the supply differences, I just mean that I don't know think quite as many people seek out the Cakes as much as Prop. I know I had no interest in the Cake variants just bc the flavorings used in the base beer don't appeal to me at all...so I don't want the BA version. the BCBS is a different story; the base beer is legendary and all the variants have scored very high. with the Cakes you are "just" getting the BA version...I just don't think the wide demand is there quite as much.

I respect your opinion, but I think you're very much in the minority on this one. the BA Cakes are in pretty high demand (look at what they've pulled), and with a bottle count roughly 8% of something like Prop, well...Prop is a $20 bottle, underpriced or not (and the Cakes are $30 bottles, overpriced or not). can't change that

It's been a year since release. Can we all finally now admit that for whatever reason the bottle count on prop means nothing? There have been like 9000 variations on this thread in the last 10 months. It clearly trades higher than a 15k bottle and I say this as someone who doesn't own a bottle or seek to trade one.

Sure, I've seen them pull a bvdl. I just think 4 bottles of something like prop ( or at most 5) would get this done. Unless you think it would take 6 or 7 or something I don't think we disagree very much.

How many props would be a fair trade for Assassin?

    At least 2 probably 2+

Assassin is at about 1+for dbh and dbh goes for at least 3 prop ( in my opinion at least)

Assassin trades for prop+ or ++ depending on what is offered I tried Assassin+ for 2x Prop several times with no success. I turned down 12 BCBCS and Mexican cake as pluses just because I wanted 2 props.
