    Hi all

Apologies if this has already been discussed ad nauseam, but didn't see any recent threads...

What does Prop typically trade for? Is it just nosebleeds like DB Huna or might it fetch beers Normal People would have? Will be in Chicago this wknd and wanted to throw a ISO:FT out there, but really no idea where I'm at.

    Thanks for your time:slight_smile:

You can find sensible individuals out there who realize a 15,000 bottle release shouldn't pull in the world, but there is a reason Chicago people have a "reputation" when it come to their trading antics. Then again, you can't rape the willing

*No offense Chicago folks, I love you all

There isn't really a "typical" Prop trade. Even with 15K bottles estimate, its desirability is very high, though not as high as DBH or BA Abraxas. It's one of the beers where bottle count is nearly meaningless.

Prop trades wildly, from simple 1:1 with Cherry Rye, Grey Monday, Life is Like..., FW PNC or similar beers to offers such as this one:
FT: BT 13 + Viet SS + Supplication ISO: Prop

It really comes down to how much you really want one, what you're willing to put up, and your luck of your offered up beers are one that the other person is looking for (isn't it always?).

yes, this is a great example of how bottle count is often overused. Supply and Demand both matter, and Prop has massive demand.

anyways agree with the above 1:1 examples. not DB Huna or the like, but also not $25 of shelf beers either

I sent about 65 bucks of rare, but not uber rare beers to a guy for mine. I was told I'd be taken care of on extras. I'll not get into that.

Hey thanks for the responses, y'all. Don't think I yet have what it takes to pull one w/o digging too deep into my cellar, but it sounds like I could cobble together some package of HF/Lawsons/Trillium etc and be in the ballpark. Thanks again--really appreciate the input:slight_smile:

A package will definitely help, but best to make sure there's a big enough centerpiece like a $15-$20 HF with low limit, not a $10 limit 1-2 cases/pp. Also, you'll have much better luck doing this around the next release which is end of November.

I've traded for Prop twice, once back in January, once again in about May. And then I connected 2 friends who just completed a Prop trade last week.

the Jan trade: I parted with Beat6+Consecration+Supplication+Angel's Share+BA Blackout Stout to get the Prop. The guy I traded with (who has become a good friend) hooked it up with great extras (including a 6-pack of fresh Zombie)

the May trade: I parted with Vigneronne+Mexican Cake (to the same guy), and he added a Toasty Nut Abduction to the Prop

the Aug trade: Prop went for BG&E+Brother Soigne

so basically, what everyone above has said. demand is still high for the beer, albeit not quite at Assassin/DBH/BA Abraxas 1:1 levels

it's going to take $30+ of high quality brew in most instances

I went with Event Horizon+Sexual Chocolate+WCMH+Orange Bliss+Gozu+Mexican Cake. Overpaid, but no regrets. Had extras of each that I gave.

My inexperience got the better of me. I fully agree that extras are just that, but I allowed them to become a part of our deal, and I was...surprised. Didn't expect to out extra (quality and quantity) in that one. C'est la vie.

I still wish I knew who this was. Shame on people for not taking care of good traders.

@jshusc helped me secure mine with an awesome trader (that has since helped me land some awesome bottles).

Mine was landed for a Bo&Luke, Backyard, and Westbrook Orange Bliss (Joel's assist)

Sounds like some perfectly practical trades for different styles, what this place should be.

Would New Glarus Wild Peach pull interest for a Prop?

It would definitely pull interest and be a centerpiece for the trade. I doubt its 1:1 though.
