    This.

The coconut is so light that I can't comprehend its markup relative to BCBS. Randalling some coconut in regular BCBS gives essentially the same beer.

The last two posts are interesting. Wonder if there's some bottle variation going on. The bottle I domed was a coconut bomb.

Mine was definitely not even close. The other two people that drank it really liked it as well, but nobody picked up a ton of coconut.

I have had it twice neither time was it a coconut bomb. It is very good though.

So you're saying infusing a bottle of bcbs with coconut would be a huge winner? I can spare a bottle of bcbs no problem. Trade 4-5 really good bottles for one bottle Proprietors, now that's a problem. But, to each his own.

It's a great beer but I can't justify the going rate. It's not exponentially better than regular BCBS (which some people enjoy more). I got to try BCBS ghetto randalled with toasted coconut, at the tasting event where I got to try Proprietors, and it was quite delicious and had an even more pronounced coconut flavor profile.

I've had all of this years variants. ..... If I was given the opportunity to purchase either 2 Coffee's or 5 Proprietors, I would take the 2 Coffees in a heartbeat. As long as it was quickly before the coffee fades. (And even if I could get the 5 proprietors for the same price as 2 coffees, I would still take the 2 coffees.)

I can sit here as I drink plain ól BCBS (rough times) ...One sip tell myself that its Chocolate BCBS, the next sip tell myself that its Vanilla BCBS, the next think that its Coconut BCBS...and each sip, if you really want to pull out that distinct flavor from the brew, you will have about the same experience as say drinking a Proprietors.

Ghetto randalled? What does that mean exactly, just curious? I'm already planning to stick a whole vanilla bean in a BCBS and recapping the bottle like another BA recommends for recreating BCBVS, but what's this with the coconut if its not an actual Randall setup?

It's what I call the french press approach. As for the vanilla bean, I suggest using it sparingly.

Ohhh yeah that should have been fairly obvious. I don't have a french press but I've always been telling myself it's worth the investment (i.e. when my coffee machine breaks, which it always seems to each year).

this is always the case though. it's not quality which drives trade value, it's rarity / uniqueness. Double Barrel Damon is lower rated than KBS, but it would probably take 16 KBS (or more?) to acquire 1 DBD

Yeah, I realize that. For me, though, I try to equate the enjoyment factor with a dollar value and since Props' going rate is on the high end, I'd expect it to provide enjoyment exponentially better than a comparable standard like BCBS. I enjoyed Proprietors but not enough to make me want to plunk down what it would take to get one.

Then there's also the question of how unique it is and whether or not I can produce a similar (not necessarily the same) results at home.

what beer could that possibly be? at $6 / 12 ounce for BCBS what beer is comparable, never mind MUCH MUCH better than BCBS?

If you're looking for an alternative coffee brewing method, I suggest the Aeropress. I'm constantly amazed at how incredible my cups of coffee are by using it. Of course you'll still need good beans. These days, I just use the carafe part of my french press for pouring hot water when I brew using a pour-over system.

None really. It's why I don't trade for whales, or in this case, a pseudo-whale. The cost is not worth it to me.

Totally off topic, but i second the aeropress (inverted of course) recommendation based primarily because of ease of clean up vis a vis french press or vacuum press. I roast my own beans which i buy from burman (google it).

The Bruery doesn't price as high as they can. Not even close.
