Due to the location of Topppling Goliath, it makes perfect sense for them logistically/geographically to offer their products in WI and Iowa, and eventually MN it sounds like. Why should they limit themselves to a state border when they can easily share the wealth with neighbors too? And that is coming from a guy who lives in Des Moines and realizes we usually see bottles last. The only thing I do know is that TG will take care of Des Moines, even if it isn't their very first distro stop. Be calm and beer on...it'll be here soon and we will all be able to enjoy the wonderful nectar that they produce.

I'm headed to Ellsworth, WI today but couldnt find any liquor stores on TG's beer finder near there. Can anyone comment on possible stores that may have some in that area?

I also think WI has much higher craft beer demand so New Glarus staying within WI makes more sense.

Yes....this is certainly a big factor too. That's apparent by the fact that Spotted Cow outsells every other tap handle in the state. Makes sense for NG to stay put for now, otherwise people would go ballistic is they couldn't have their Spotted Cow.

Did Sosus get bottled the same day as PsuedoSue?

Anybody have a Sosus and a Psuedo Sue to trade IP will make it worth your brews

This batch of Sue is fantastic, not as good as I remember it being when I grabbed a few growlers from the taproom in June but regardless this is what all Citra farmers should aspire their hops to become.

The difference being though that the people from those states have to go to NG to grab up the beer. NG hasn't ever brought me beer to IC

If anyone missed out on the Pseudo let me know if you want to do an IP trade in the Twin Cities.

Visited Iowa City from DC this weekend. I wasn't able to secure any bottles...but was lucky enough to try Sue on draft at Short's downtown. Very excellent, and at the time, basically made my weekend.

Then, tailgating the next morning, I was extremely fortunate to have someone share a bottle of Sosus with me. It has been a while since I've had a beer that literally made my jaw drop with awesomeness. I can only imagine what the look on my face was after that first sip. Absolutely amazing stuff (and I say this after driving 10 hours to purchase a case of fresh Heady Topper earlier this summer).

So, a hearty congratulations to the TG crew for all the excellent work they are doing. I was very glad I got to try a couple brews - and look forward to more in the future (I'm hopefully moving back to Midwest in 2014).

There were still a few cases of Sue at the Woodmans in La Crosse this afternoon, $5.99/bottle. The guy I talked to said they didn't get any Sosus.

Decorah is about 2 hours south of there. That's going to be your closest bet for bottles. Growlers, go the 30 mins to Nova in Hudson.

To bottle cap 80. I got the 2nd to last bottle of Sue at Ankeny hyvee 2. Their allotment sold out in 24 hours. If you call yourself an Iowa brewery, shouldn't you at least somewhat satisfy your largest city?? I am complaining and just saying. I don't want to call it Toppling Goliath Decorah Wi. Or Decorah Il. God forbid!

TG is always on tap in the city and you got bottles...What is the issue here?

What is the issue here is that it is a limited distribution of bottles as opposed to the distribution of bottles to Wis, Ill, and Mn. I live in DSM. Since it is an Iowa brewery, it would be nice to pick up a 4 pack or 6 pack, or even a pint without having to make a reservation!!

Exactly, and while I'm sure it's frustrating to not be able to get bottles in TG's backyard, the bottom line is that they are a world class brewery and the demand for their brews is going to be huge, even after they expand production. It's awesome to be honest, and I'm thrilled every time I get to enjoy their work. They are one of the few breweries where the hype is more than justified! Sue and Nugget are fantastic!

Its illegal for them to self distribute in MN since they are an IA brewery. Wisconsin does allow out of state breweries to self distribute so that's where they went....They will eventually sell here through a distributor but not until they get their production up.
