This is the fifth bomber or so I've had of PseudoSue, and the first time I've seen this:

Nothing wrong with the taste, but has anyone else seen this? Makes Heady look crystal clear.

EDIT: It's always been hazy, but never with this much sediment clumping. It's kind of weird.

Just had a bomber the other night that was like this. The first glass I drank was fine and pretty clear. When I got to the bottom half of the bomber and poured a second glass, it looked just like this. I could taste a difference in the second glass as well, which was cloudy and full of sediment. Not necessarily a bad taste but a definite difference.

I heard from someone that there was a "fresh hop" batch, but that's just what I heard... All the bottles I picked up from Hudson also had this crazy sediment. No compromise in taste, though!

Thanks to all you guys that grabbed some Sue bottles, and especially for drinking them fresh!

There is no "fresh hop" batch... just wanted to dispel the rumor. The brite tank had a some sediment roused during bottling and it subsequently found it's way into the majority of the bottles. If anyone was able to get ahold of some Sosus as well, they would have noticed little to no sediment.

I'd recommend trying to leave the sediment behind, but do whatever you prefer. At any rate, sorry for any difficulties this might have caused.

    Cheers,
    Mike

I personally enjoy the extra "chew" from the last few swallows in this batch of Sue. As Mike mentions though.... zero sediment from Sosus bottled around this same time. Both fantastic as always!

OP here . . . to be clear, there was absolutely no effect on taste, which was bright, juicy, and brilliant as always. PS is threatening to edge out Alpine Nelson as my favorite brew. Always willing to do what it takes to obtain it here in CA--including giving up Nelson

I had this as well. As a homebrewer a little sediment never scares me. BTW, the beer was fanstastic as usual.

If I did not drink the sediment you guys would have to charge me 50 cents less... Because there is a lot of it! I kid of course, I drank it and it was delicious!

BTW My brother thanks you, his wife and he were splitting a bottle and she would not drink it because of the sediment... He was very happy with this development!

The highest rated beer on this site pours cloudy with sediment as well. I say keep it up.

The difference is that this sediment altered the flavor profile of the beer. The bottle I had almost had a kind of heat to it with the sediment. I filtered the other one I had, and that was fine

I tasted zero difference with the extra sediment. Same glorious Sue taste as always.

Was really cloudy when I was at the tap room 2 weekends ago as well. I loved it blended with the Murphs Irish more than I did as a solo drink! Probably heresy to say I know.

Thats really interesting, two friends of mine also had bottles, one reported the same "heat" as I did. The other one completely filtered his and said it was fine

That is interesting. Have had a few now, and really have not noticed any difference with the sediment. Maybe I'll have to just really examine it on my next one

The first one I had was loaded with floaties. It went down so quick I didn't notice anything but goodness. The next sat for a few minutes. Had about an inch and a half of sediment in the bottom. Had a slight astringent taste. Just poured out the last inch. Didn't care a damn bit. If every bottle was like that, it wouldn't slow my pursuit of this beer a bit.

I had a similar experience. I didn't notice much sediment in the first bottle. The second bottle had quite a bit, but I didn't notice any change in flavor. I didn't drink the last half-inch or so. Still one of my absolute top beers.
