With the recent batch of Sue being released ive seen some pretty high demands. I personally just want to share some good beer with people that are far out of the distribution. Just trying to gauge what would be fair ($ and Availability) wise for a bomber

    Cheers

Good, solid locals. Or they make great extras that people appreciate.

The biggest problem is that people are mixing up the TG stouts, which had very low bottle counts & are insanely good, with Sosus/Sue, which are available on an ongoing basis in growlers & sporadically on tap, & should be for the foreseeable future (& are also really good). Nobody should feel the need to "overpay" for either of them, sounds like there will be plenty coming out of Decorah for a long, long time.

This happened with Heady when it first arrived on the scene too, but now Heady is a beer that people trade reasonably. That will happen to these two as well, probably more quickly since it's being distributed just a bit.

Has Sosus ever been available in growlers? I wasn't aware of that if it was. That said, I just threw it in as an extra even though my trade partner couldn't throw in an extra. I'd like to trade one of my other bottles for prairie bomb or coffee break abduction tomorrow in IL. I don't think either of those are unreasonable.

Not true, exactly. Sue is available on tap pretty regularly, though not always. Sosus has been bottled twice now, NEVER on tap. I live in a TG heavy market (Red's alehouse in NL is the #1 market for them) but we still get them sporadically. Let people trade for what they will.

I did mean Sue being on tap regularly (in Hudson, WI), not Sosus, my wording wasn't exactly clear. And as for letting people "trade for what they will" I have no idea what you meant by that, but these aren't one-and-done & people don't need to deal their first-borns for it. People who don't live in a TG heavy market might not know that.

See my recent FT/ISO, which may get done. All I'm saying is if there is an ISO/FT and it seems ridiculous, but gets done, no harm, no foul. People can set their own expectations/want level.

People can trade what they want for whatever; I don't give a rip, since it has no effect on my life whatsoever.

But you don't seem to understand my point. People don't NEED to trade a DDG for these beers. If they WANT to, more power to them. They're going to be brewed regularly. They're going to be around. Except for mad tickers, there's no need to overtrade for these or similar beers that are excellent, but steadily available.

Agreed. I love both of these TG pale ales a ton, but they'll be back especially with TG's recent brewery investments. DDG isn't going to come back for at least another 3 years (geuzes being what they are).

This exchange is hilarious to me. Maximum attempts to give some perspective on the TG beers, and mattafett, through the guise of the "let people trade their beer" mantra, cries foul. Meanwhile, he is attempting to ship out his TG beers for DDG. Gotta protect that TG trade value. Can't have people trying to provide people with more reasonable expectations about what these should trade for.

All I'm saying is people can create their OWN reasonable expectation. Based on response's, my trade is probably going to get done.

    Edit: Trade done.

Congrats! You should hurry and flip a few more bottles before any other hooligans try sabotaging your trades by spreading the word that these TG beers are becoming more readily available. Can't risk the general public becoming more informed about what they are trading for.
