PTY in OC- 2017

I'm nearly as pumped to eat the nachos and pickle chips with it as the beer itself. And doing a side-by-side with Hops of Fury.

 

Had hops of fury tonight, gotta say pretty damn good.

 

This is not your first time having a Younger?

 

I've had many Youngers, including at the source, but none that I didn't have to wait a long time for. And never a full-pint pour, I don't think.

 

Yeah, been to the source 2 years in a row. First time > it was the last year for growler fills. What a fiasco. 4 hour wait outside and another 30 minute to order. Some old santa clause looking guy was wheeling out 3 boxes full of younger growlers to his van. But once inside the younger & atmosphere was great. That was with the wife. Next year co-worker and I flew to SFO on a Monday and drove to RRBC and got there 20 minutes before opening and we were the first 2 in line. Had it many times at BWSB before the lottery thing (which is a good thing). Hops of Fury is tasting really good this year. Would be nice to do a side by side comparison. Enjoy....

 

I work about a mile from Pizza Port San Clemente. No tapping today and was told likely no tapping tomorrow for Younger.

 

Any word on a possible date? Thursday or Friday instead? I wasn't able to make it today due to work but was planning on going tomorrow for lunch.

 

Wouldn't give me an exact date, but my gut is telling me it'll be Thursday.

 

PTY on at Congregation Ale House in LB

 

We live pretty close and have been going for years as well. They have definitely streamlined the menu (but I like the brunch addition). They had PtE as usual, but had just kicked it Sunday. Haven't had a chance to ask Adam yet about Blind Pig.

We will be there Monday night for the RR dinner though

 

Anybody know what time to shoot for at Tustin Brewing tomorrow if I want a ticket? Newish to CA and never had a chance to try Younger.

 

I think if you get there around 10am you're ok. Last year the line finished and still had some tickets. However, you can always get there earlier to be safe. FYI, there isn't a lot of parking so plan some time either looking for a spot or walking.

Thank you for this! They tapped it at 5:30PM yesterday, and tapped out by 6:30PM. My 1st PtY - and it was delicious.

 

So, next year PtY unfiltered?

 

This years recipe did have the addition of two new hops to the recipe. I personally thought it wasn't a good idea as this years batch seemed less aromatic and muted. I just hope Vinnie stays out of the hazy cess pool. #savewestcoastipa.
