PTY in OC- 2017

Can anyone please inform me or point me in the direction of an article where Vinnie from Russian River bashes certain bottle shops for selling PtE for outrageous amounts or "keeping them in the back"?

Any help is appreciated!

 

Not sure who to contact. But I believe it was his better half who would go out and check out the stores/places unannounced. Maybe try their FB page. Send them a message.

 

The best way to do Pliny in OC. Wait time 3 minutes and a 10 oz pour. They upped their glassware game. I recall it always being in a small tumbler style glass.

 

Pizza Port tapped it at 11. I got two 10 oz pours. Their FB said one per person, but there are already people on their 4th.

 

But, how can it possibly taste good if you don't have to wait in line for it?!

 

You know it doesn't taste as good as last years.

 

They aren't regulating it, how can they really With how they do it. No complaints here.

It absolutely does not. 2017 is very good, but off.

 

Yeah, getting in at 11:05 and having zero line is pretty sweet. The beer is fantastic and if they played with the hop bill at all, I'm not sure you can say it's "off." It's just a little different. It might not have as much of a punch, but that can also be related to comparing it to something you had a year (or more) ago and having some other pretty fantastic triples out there that are more readily available.

 

I am equally stoked to have bacon and eggs. So good.

I had it side-by-side with Beachwood Hops of Fury a couple of nights ago. I really thought HoF was going to beat it, but I actually liked the PtY better, especially as the two warmed. PtY became more complex, weedy, and herbal; HoF (while very good) stayed relatively sweet, hot, and less dimensional. Different from prior years? Yes. "Off"? Hardly.

 

Did you see they're canning Bacon n Eggs on 3/4? Only sold at Pizza Port locations.

 

Hopefully the other pp will do it Saturday considering I'm working ot tomorrow. If not I'll just drink my 36 pack of coors.
