    Cheers for the replies

Its a much for the experience and then the beer. Queuing is one of those things but i'll take a book and have a good read in the early AM while waiting

Plus i'll have couple cases of Heady and 12 - 18 bottles of Fou Foune that i might give some out to new friends

Or you could just stop in at Toronado and grab a glass or three (which is what I did two or three years in a row during SFBW.)

RR is fun... when it's not SFBW. Otherwise it's a fucking zoo. Avoid it.

Just be careful about open containers in public. California & Santa Rosa in particular are not at all friendly to such behavior.

That's why everybody I know around here brings coffee in thermoses instead.

At least I think it is coffee...

If it looks like coffee, and enjoyed like coffee... It's definitely coffee Black Tuesday

Who said anything about open containers? I was purely saying I'd give some away

Guess I read that as "sharing". I've had too many beer-nerd friends visiting from abroad that got hassled by cops for drinking in public.

I've read there is a daily limit for PtY at the brewpub. Can anyone shed some light onto how the limit being reached affects the queue? Do many folks pack up and leave if they're not close to the front? Does the line tend to stop growing once the pours stop?

Also, any idea on what time of day the limit has been reached in the past?

I'll be in town Thursday and Friday the second week of the release and would be just as content with the standard tap list if it means avoiding a lengthy (2+ hour) wait.

I went mid week on valentines day in 2014, got in line at 7:30am and was only lined up to the fountain which meant I was in the first group let in. I assume this was easier that day because other people were being more considerate partners than I. I did make it to Valentines day dinner that evening, but I was a bit of a mess. :flushed:

It doesn't matter when you line up. Jackass "queue"-cutters will screw you out of the opportunity.

Last time I went, I got there at 10:45am, was inside drinking the Younger by about 11:20. But that was on a Tuesday, and it was year before last. I wouldn't dream of trying to get in on opening weekend. Unless, you know, you just want the wacky fun experience of waiting in line for 6-8 hours.

Beatification and 2010 Sanctification kegs were a good consolation this past release on opening Friday after getting in line at 7:45am and getting in to pub at 2:30pm

After the 9 hour wait last year on opening day I think I'll just stick to finding it in local LA bars. Beatification I'll be there for sure!

Younger, like Elder is old news for me. I will not go out and seek Younger. If Elder is available in the cooler when I'm at my local I will pick up a bottle for old time sake. I've flown out to RRBC 2 years in a row (my first was the growler fiasco) for the Younger. No more. Had it. It was good. Much better stuff out there. For all you young newbies, I would say go for it. Enjoy it. Like the Elder, it's a good beer. One that you should try at least once.

Its great to see everyone's experiences....

I've never had younger before, therefore i'll queue with the rest of sheep this time, but i most likely won't do it again and just enjoy what SF has to offer more

And i appreciate everyone going on about Pliny being old news, not to Europeans, but then again i've been drinking at the Cantillon Brewery for 13 years before the hype blew up on them and all you guys in the US wanted them! lol

    Oh, that's not condescending.

OP, I used to live in the San Francisco Bay area and made the PtY pilgrimage the last 5. Some say it's a waste of time or that PtY is over-hyped, etc etc. Well, I look forward to it and I'm far from being a "young newbie". Ignore the pretentiousness and be excited! Have a great time & Cheers!

I've been to PtY many times myself and it's consistently one of the best beer drinking adventures that I've ever had.

    Go, enjoy!

I will also be in town around that time (Feb 12-17) and have a few questions. Does the line last into the night? Like if we wanted to go to RR for dinner and beer (not necessarily PtY) would we be able to get in for dinner on any of those nights? We'll be in Napa for one night and figured we could try to hit the brewery the following night after driving around the area during the day. How many days does PtY stick around the brewery? Does it last more than a week? I hear there should be some tappings around SF after the release, is that my best bet to try it? Will there still be kegs in SF on the dates I listed? Thanks in advance for any info. Can BM me if necessary to keep this thread on topic.
