So I am traveling for work with 3 other colleagues in Burlington MA. I am considering taking them to the Publick House tonight. How busy will they be? From looking at reviews on here, google and yelp the one complaint that comes up rather frequently is how busy they are. Assuming we get there for 7, about how long should we expect to wait for a party of 4? I am hoping that it being a Wednesday will mean they are a bit slower... I know they don't take reservations, but does anyone know if they accept call ahead's? Sorry for posting this here. If it were just me going, I would just go, deal with the crowds, and love every minute of it, but none of my colleagues are beer people and I don't want to piss them off if there is a 2 hour wait. TIA
In my experience, unless they have a specific beer event, a Wednesday night for 4 shouldn't be an issue. You might have to wait, but I can't imagine it would be more than 30 minutes. They take your number and call (maybe text?) when your table is ready. So you can go anywhere in the bar and not miss your table. *EDIT* If you want guaranteed fast seating, good beer, and easy parking - try Cambridge Brewing. They validate for the large garage near them.
How far is that from the Publick House? If it's reasonably close, that will be our plan B if there ends up being a long wait.
Like @Sweatshirt said, it's not too far away. About 4 miles according to Google. The biggest traffic snarl is by the BU Bridge. By 7pm on a Wednesday that should mostly be clear. I'd say 15-20 minutes to the garage, then about a 2-3 minute walk from there.
Publick House won't be more than a 30 minute wait. I highly recommend going there (if you care about my opinion haha). Trillium stuff still on tap after their anniversary party that was there on Monday.
