So puckerfest kicks off today. I don't even like sours (that much), but still I'm excited to be going (and plan to leave work to head out in another couple of hours).

    Anyone else going this evening?

I've seen a handful of the usual suspects in here already, and assuming it isn't shoulder to shoulder when I get off work I'll probably hang out for a couple glasses.

Tomorrow is the day to go to. The Commons and De Garde will both be there.

We've had plenty of Commons and de Garde recently, thank goodness. If I had to pick, I think those Upright kegs look mighty special.

Then it's time they both make a visit to Seattle.

Really though, you can't go wrong with today, tomorrow, or Sunday. All days looks fantastic. For me though, I will make the drive down tomorrow for de Garde and The Commons. Love both places and the kegs they are bringing look great. Love the plum bretta from The Commons.

Yeah. Believe me, I'm not trying to hate, I feel spoiled lately and appreciate everything those two breweries do. I've just got my eyes on Upright night.

Just as an "oh by the way"...

If yesterday is any indication, expect good size crowds for this event. I got there around 5:30, and there wasn't a seat to be had anywhere (back patio included). At 5:30 it was about a 5 or 10 minute wait to order (no more than 10 people in line), which I thought wasn't bad. Got the Cascade sample pack (four beers in sample glass format) for $14, which I thought was reasonable. Anyway, after finishing off the Cascade beers, I thought I'd stop back for sample glasses of the Belmont 15 and the New Belgium imperial coffee chocolate stout, but by then (around 6:15), the line was back out the door onto the sidewalk. So I left.

I would be very surprised if the crowd is any lighter today, so probably a good idea to get there early if you can. Cheers!

    Of note:
Stopped in yesterday around 6ish, and a couple of the Block 15 kegs had already kicked (not surprising, because they're awesome). I might suggest getting there closer to starting time if possible if anyone is specifically looking for our beer. Block 15s were quarter barrel kegs, and ours are 1/6bbl. We will hopefully have a backup of the Vielle Peche though if necessary.
Great event though, and a plethora of fantastic options even minus a couple. We're really looking forward to it today, and are honored to be taking part.
    See some of you soon!

Crowds were less crazy today (around 5:30) than yesterday. Though it is smart to get there a bit early to secure a table. I had both the DeGarde and Commons flights. Everything were fantastic, and my favorite of the night was the collaboration beer 'Ortucky Common' by both breweries. Looking forward to Upright on Sunday!

That name is interesting... East End just released one called "Pensyl-tucky UnCommon". It was a red that was sour mashed, iirc.

Yesterday I didn't make it in until after 6 and the crowds had died down some.
The beers were great, Plum Bretta was insanely delicious as always, the collaboration beer was stellar.

on a side note, both breweries will have a few special beers at brews for new avenues:wink:

The Commons killed it yesterday. The de Garde beers were all quite enjoyable, particularly unblended beuze, but the braam and emilie were superlative.

I third the collaboration between The Commons and de Garde. It had everything: sweet but not overly so, pleasantly sour without making me, well, literally pucker. Long finish, nice aroma, not bad with Italian Market sub, and weighing in at just over 5% ABV.

made it out today, thought Ortucky Common was excellent but the Bear Republic Tartare was ridiculous.

Fantasia is coming along nicely, it was nice to see boneyard dabbling in the wild ales as well.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. We're really psyched to hear you all enjoyed the beers as much as we do!
