what am I going to have to dish out to land these? Seems to be all over the board value wise. Thought?

Mocha was exclusive to their society and only one bottle per member. Probably be hard to pull because nobody has extras (unless they purchased multiple memberships).

Pugachev royale was around 1200 bottles (they're numbered) and were probably around $15? I know club members - I believe there are 400 club members - got 1 each with the membership and I assume they were able to buy additional bottles at the party. I don't think any was distributed. This will be much easier to get than Mocha since people got multiples. It's awesome. So something equally rare? I got one in a bigger trade that included stuff like SARA Cask 200 and Allagash Coolship Red ...

Mocha was, as I understand it, 1 per club member ... and that's it. So 400? I'd say this will make it tough due to few people having multiples.

Royale was sold 1 pp in addition to 1 each for society members. A fair amount of people were able to make it through the line multiple times to get multiples of Royale though, so there should be some out there.

What was the limit on the 25-year bottles per person and what did they cost?

    EDIT: paging @PG2G as well.

Also one per member and one per trip through the line. I believe it sold out before Royale did but I could be wrong (I Skipped the bottle line and drank the taps)

Is there any difference btwn royale '13 and '14? Also, are they all 375's?

Honestly, I know rarity and what not may be similar to other beers but I'm not a big fan of giving up a 750 or bomber of similarly rated beer (and rarity) for half the amount volume wise. I was very intrigued until I saw that but I'm still not sure if that's all royale bottles.

Wow, that surprises me, not that it's a huge difference

I'm sure it's a great beer and I want to try it but it's a tough pill to swallow giving up say something like Assassin 1:1. I would do it 2:1 perhaps with a very small plus but I don't like trading down in oz's, lol.

I understand both sides of the argument, it's just personally a bit of a turn off or deterrent for me. It may have something to do with why I normally trade "down" with any hyped up/whaleish beers I have. I prefer quantity of very good oz's to less quantity of equally as good or only slightly better oz's. Again, just me, everyone's different.

Agree. And it's amazing how many BAs seemed willing to give up multiple bombers & 750s for 12oz of KBBS.

    Math does not compute. 750ml = 5-6 people; 12oz = solo dome!

    :astonished: :grinning:

This. If 12 oz is almost too small to split at a tasting unless its just a few people. If its myself and wife, I'd rather split and sip it with about 10 oz each. Really sink my teeth into it if ya know what I mean.

I really can't decide if I want to try to trade for these beers or not!

Not to turn anyone away from seeking out a beer they want to try but I am a member with hangar 24 and we opened all of them at a tasting a couple weeks back and I can tell you that of the four of us, all were in agreement that the mocha was not very good at all. Was actually the least favorite of the night as it had a very strong green pepper smell, while I'll admit the taste didn't translate to as intense as the smell. It was still there and not at all what I was hoping for... The Royale and 25 were pretty awesome though and the regular is always a winner in my book.

I know, I was messing with you because I have that precise mindset. I'm always like, "oh, a 12oz? I can drink that myself." Then "jeez, a 750? I better call all the guys." haha

I just know that if I gave up what some of the offers I have seen go up, I would be wishing I had kept the volume, again not saying it was a drain pour but especially next to second shift LSD, it didn't hold a candle. That last batch of 2nd shift LSD may be one of the top three coffee beers I have ever had period. Now that's a beer I would trade for again if I could, plus it's a 750 even
