Have you been to McNeily's? $25 for stone verticals, $35 for bolt cuter, $35 for Black Ops, $16 for KBS (1 bottle), $21.50 for Founders Mango.

All just chilling on the shelves. I don't know how they stay in business

Is this the McNeilly's you are talking about?

If so, my mind is blown. I live literally 5 minutes from this place and have never heard of it. But yeah, pricing for common beers like that is insane. If it's for out of state stuff that you can't get here, I can MAYBE see charging semi-outrageous prices, but for Pumking and Bolt Cutter?

I live in PA and I couldn't agree with you more. The Pumpking craze makes me chuckle. If I'm out and about and see it on tap, I might buy a draft...but certainly not until at least September, and I'd probably never consider buying an entire case unless most of it were already spoken for by others. I don't understand the fascination with this. It might be the best pumpkin beer, but that's really not saying much.

I enjoy Pumking. I was referring to the fact that it was "flying of the shelf" and "all spoken for".. I'm 45min up the turnpike from you and its sitting around everywhere and cases stacked taller than I am.

Yeah man...we're in the same camp here. Not saying I don't enjoy it, I do. But like you, I'm surprised the demand vs. supply is so lopsided in this area. Good beer, not GREAT. And certainly not worth a double digit pricetag.

It's all over the place now. Shaler GE had 20 cases easy and I assume Robinson got their shipment in this week. The House even got a new stock of it it looks like. I think a lot of people are going the "buy a case" route and it's becoming hard to get at distributors though. I saw that Save on Beer Cranberry ordered a couple palates when I got my case from them and I think they're all gone now. I guess we just love our Fall beers here. Heh.

Jeevo, I'm not crazy about Southern Tier's Pumpking either but I did see it on draft at Meat and Potatoes in downtown a couple weeks ago. From what I have tasted, however, there are other far more delicious pumpkin ales around than Southern Tier's. Mind you, it's not terrible but it doesn't knock my socks off either. Several other more phenomenal pumpkin ales I have tried and highly recommend: Brooklyn Brewery's Post Road Pumpkin Ale (delicious!), Church Brew Work's Ichabod (it is a pumpkin stout but still amazing nonetheless) and Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale (very balanced).

I actually got to try it on tap a few weeks after creating this thread at The Saloon in Mt. Lebanon. I definitley enjoyed it much more than the first time I had it last year. I haven't tried, or even heard of the pumpkin beers you mentioned but I'll definitely keep an eye out for them the rest of the year. I came across the Warlock from Southern Tier as well but decided to pass on it. A few people mentioned that it tasted a bit like their Creme Brulee and well, that scared me more than any horror movie I've watched so far this season.

When I tried, I agreed with pretty much everyone else I with that it tasted exactly like Pumking with a little burnt aftertaste from the addition of black malt.

This is what I thought. I have no idea where Creme Brulee is coming from. If anything, the burnt/black malt makes it less sweet than pumking.

I for one thought warlock was infinitely better than pumking, and im glad its not overly hyped like its more popular counterpart, i got a nice earthy hop presence from my bomber, i'm gonna look for another one. if they could just tone down the extracts and spices just a hair, itd be amazing
