    I have a spinning spray ball that I want to put on the end of a PVC tube for cleaning kegs. The basic set up is to have a pond pump in a bucket of Oxi/TSP solution, PVC tube up from the pump to the bottom of an inverted keg resting on a lattice structure across the top of the bucket so that the solution runs back into the bucket for continual recycle.

    What I need help with is getting the right pond pump for the rise of the bucket and keg so I have enough force to spin the ball and blast the cleaner into the keg for good cleaning. Thoughts?

    I do something conceptually similar to CIP my conical. My pond pump is rated at 1/8 HP and 21.13 GPM. I'd link it, but it's no longer made.

    You might be over thinking this. A slop sink, hot water and some oxy clean works quite nicely. A parts bowl, a 7/8" wrench and some soapy water too.

    Personally I think you need to take a shower with your best kegs. Bring a long handle brush. The outside of my kegs, rubber parts especially, get grimey.
    Good times.

    Any 5 gpm pump is more than enough. Pressure is an inverse relationship to volume, so if you use 3/16" line for example, it will be plenty of force. That's why you bought an extra 25' of choker. I think the cleaning end of this set up is not going to necessarily spray every interior surface automatically.

    Amazon. Bezos needs the business.
    That's just my opinion. Homebrewers have solutions looking for a problem sometimes. This might be one example. But right on, build one killer Corney Cleaner!

    Cheers

    @billandsuz thanks for the reply.

    Unfortunately at the new house I no longer have a sink or hot water access in the garage.

    You're probably right about over thinking it. I can clean a keg in the kitchen sink fairly easy (if the sink is empty). But the ability to automate the process to clean it for me takes out the pain (physically and figuratively) of having to stand at the sink moving, scrubbing, spinning, rinsing, dumping, etc. A simple pump with spray ball set up allows me to plug it in and forget about it for 10 minutes. I was also considering a valve that allows me to close flow to the spray ball and divert it to a ball lock... clean the keg when it blows, clean the line, swap buckets for sanitizer.
