Is it all Mosaic? I didn't think it was a single hop beer, but maybe that's new this year, too.

But yeah, that sounds delightful either way.

Edit: DURRRRRR. My bad: http://sixpoint.com/blog/recent/choose-your-autumnation-ii/ . . . for those of you too lazy to click on the link, it says no pumpkin this year to focus just on the wet hops. It's a bit ambiguous as to the overall hop recipe, but judging by this page's reference to Mosaic being the "main-hops" I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it focuses on wet Mosaic but they aren't the only hops in the beer, when all is said and done.

In other news, that means that Autumnation does not, at least this year, qualify as a pumpkin IPA.

I'll second (or third) North Peak Hooligan. I'm drinking one right now and it's definitely the hoppiest pumpkin beer I've had yet, and I've been on a pumpkin beer binge lately

I think it's already out, if not it will be very soon. I've seen a bunch of people check into it on untappd.

Agreed, even though it sounds like a brewery can make some cash from a pumpkin IPA

Trinity brewing in Colorado Springs makes Emma's Coffin pumpkin saison. Its one of my favorite pumpkin beers and has a great back story to go with its name. Long story short, Emma Crawford was buried on top of the hill, there was a huge flash flood that washed her and her coffin down the mounntain and through town. Now manitou has the annual emma crawford coffin races to celebrate the occasion.
EDIT: for everyone bitching about wanting a plain old saison or IPA, Trinity makes both, and they're great too.

Shaler GE had like 15 cases of it at $8 each just on Friday. I think the House got more in too. It finally hit the city last week and is all over the place now.

I live in p.a.. a local brewery that just had a full page ad in BA print magazine has released their first attempt. The name of the brewery is Saucony Creek Brewing. The beer is a imperial pumpkin ale. It flew off the shelves and can't be found. I was lucky to get some. It took it to another level. It pushes past pumking. Will get better with age too. Brewed with butternut squash and maple syrup. Worth finding! Also keep an eye on this brewery!

Also: Harpoon UFO Pumpkin is the best (still have to try Pumpking) I've had so far...IF you're actually looking for a more-pumpkin-than-spices/sugar taste. Very light, very pumpkin-y. And in cans, which means I'm guaranteed to buy it even if it's way too early.

Schlafly was very tasty and had a real pumpkin flavor profile. Probably the best I've had yet. I really liked Flying Dog's "the Fear" last year. Very aggressively hopped beer mixed in, which seemed unique for the style.

Post Road was horrible IMO. I drain poured it I believe.

Bier Brewery in Indianapolis makes a pretty stellar pumpkin ale. Other than that, Schlafly has to be my favorite.

DFH Punkin. The runner up is Schlafly Pumpkin.

I absolutely hate Pumking. It's like someone dropped a shot of Whipped Cream vodka into a light pumpkin ale.

After trying Pumking, Schlafly, and DFH Punkin this weekend I can honestly say that Heavy Seas Great'er Pumpkin reigns supreme. I had Great'er with a year of age on it and it was so smooth and delicious, without being over-spiced like I felt some of the others were. If you can find it get a few and store at least 1.

Well, you could try aging the other much better beers to see if they 'mellow' in the same way. That's if you want to do a fair comparison, of course.

Easy now, some of us like to post in these threads endlessly. (You are right though. ^^)

Used to hate all pumpkin beers uh Schaflay's was pretty solid and I used to kinda like Lakefront's. Same went for at least American brewery Oktoberfest beers.

Then this year all that went to hell when I got a Good Gourd as an extra in a trade and stumbled upon Leinenkugel's Big Eddy Uber-Oktoberfest this past weekend in WI. Both blew me away.

Almanac Pumpkin Barleywine was awesome, would be even more awesome if the barleywine got another year of age before bottling.

As for regular pumpkin ales I'd go DFH Punkin and Weyerbacher
