Think this is an excellent and underrated Pumpkin beer - very nice marriage of a Marzen and a Pumpkin beer....

    My other favorites are:

    - ST Pumking
    - Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin

Well Redhook Pumpkin Porter was a massive disapointment. A dark and roasty pumpkin beer just doesnt work for me.

It changes annually depending on what I try. This year I have already really enjoyed the Long Trail Brush & Barrell Imperial Pumpkin from Vermont. But I'm sure I have yet to try the best one.

I love Hipp-O-Lantern from River Horse. Shipyard Smashed is very good and Elysian The Great Pumpkin is another great ale. DFH is over rated and lacks luster. Pumpking is more spice than pumpkin, making it hard to drink more than one.

A local brewery here does a pumpkin porter, Jolly Roger pumpkin Porter by Beach brewing, and it is delicious! My wife is not a BA, but once I gave her a sip she wouldn't leave my glass alone.

I really enjoy Saranac Pumpkin Ale as well as Brooklyn's Post Road.

My fall season begins and ends with Smuttynose Pumpkin. I know a lot of people say it's overspiced, which I think is odd because I normally don't like heavily spiced beers...but this one just hits the right notes for me. Punkin was my first and I always make sure to get at least one 4 pack every year. Pumpking, to me, is not as amazing as everyone says...but again...that's me.

    Short answer: Smutty.

I used to absolutely love Pumpking. I found it several years ago before everyone found out about it and the pumpkin beers became popular. It used to be really difficult to find and started to really get popular last year. This year it came out mid-July (not pumpkin beer time) in MASS quantities. I remember 2 years ago there was a strict case restriction because distributors would only get 2 cases to sell. They did something to it this year to push it out so early in the quantity they did. Possibly fake flavoring???? Really upset about it because I was so excited to open a bottle. I was so disappointed once I tasted I dumped it out.

Anyways my favorite now is Elysian Blight Pumpkin Ale. Ordered it from BeerJobber.com before they shut down because it was so hard to find.

For a more affordable and less stressful search - Headless Horseman Pumpkin Ale

ST Pumking is the best by far that I've had. I still have 4 bottles from last year that I've been aging. Hopefully they'll come out good. I'd like to try Good Gourd at some point, but haven't had the opportunity.

Schlafly Pumpkin Ale is the top dog for me. Searched at a handful places locally the day after it was released in town and was hoping to be lucky enough to snag a 6-pack, found two cases instead.
