Pumpkin beers are one of the only things I hate about Autumn.

Why have I not thought of this before?! Schlafly Pumpkin Ale is the best of this style, followed by Pumking.

The ones I've had recently and enjoyed:
    ST Pumking
    Epic Fermentation Without Representation
    Dry Dock Imperial Pumpkin

I also have had New Belgium Pumpkick, which wasn't bad, but wasn't real notable either.

If memory serves , Elysian Night Owl, Dark O' The Moon and Great Pumpkin, will all soon be on the list
Last year's CC Good Gourd and Schlafly were pretty good as well. I haven't had Weyerbacher Imp Pumpkin for a few years, but memory tells me it was pretty great. Same with Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin.

It is, and now that the rum has had several months to relax, it's even better

I made a point to try as many as possible last year, and establish a true favorite. this year, I think I'll only buy Pumking and Schlafly.

I love pumkin beers and I'll try any new ones that I find and haven't had previously. Really love Pumking and hope to try Schafly soon. But my favorite beer brewed with pumkin so far was Summit's Imperial Pumkin Porter. The pumkin flavor was a perfect compliment in the beer. Summit, are you listening?

If you like pumpkin porters, try to get Epic Fermentation Without Representation. Good stuff

Schlafly Pumpkin is really really drinkable. I like really fresh pumpking about the same, but man you can kill some schlafly pumpkins.

    Last year, we had a pumpkin beer tasting. I ended up with the following;

    ST Pumking
    DFH Punkin
    Schlafly Pumpkin Ale
    CBC Great Pumpkin Ale
    Elysian The Great Pumpkin
    Evolution Jacques Au Lantern
    Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale
Hoppin Frog Frog's Hollow Double Pumpkin Ale
    CCB Good Gourd

Clear winner? Good Gourd. If we had to choose a second, it would be CBC Great Pumpkin.

The only one I would buy again would be Good Gourd. And I have. Only one in the group of 8 actually liked pumpkin ales, so theres that. However, we all agreed the Good Gourd was really really good.

I'll keep an eye out for it. Feel the same way about Redhook, but pulled the trigger on the Eisbock they released a few years ago and it was excellent.

Excellent pumpkin ale especially for how smooth it went down at 6.3% abv I felt like I was drinking something at around 5% max

It was a little hot, but when we tried a year old bottle it was unbelievably smooth.

You must hate Wit too--I suppose, the idea of cloudy wheat beer should not bother you, but the spices... damn that shit to hell.

Try CBC. It won't set you back by much and just might change your opinion.
