Don't have a whole lot of exposure to pumpkin beers so far I've liked schlafly and saranacs pumpkin beers. I'm drinking a pumking right now and I'm a little disappointed :slight_frown:

Night Owl is definitely tasty. I like it much better than the Dark O' the Moon or their Hanzel and Gretel.
However, Elysian's Great Pumpkin is by far my favorite pumpkin beer.
I worked down the street from their brewery for a couple years. I remember the very first time I gave that beer a shot. Tasted just like a pumpkin pie without being overly sweet or heavy.

Worst pumpkin beer ever for me - ST Pumpking... seriously nasty
Still haven't tried the Warlock, have to give that a shot this year.

Cascade Pumpkin Smash anyone? That ish will mess you up at 13.5%.

"Pumpkin Smash is a NW style sour old stock ale.The beer was rum barrel aged for 15 months; we then roasted more than 600 lbs of pumpkin down to 125 lbs of pure pumpkin essence, added it to the blend and additionally aged the beer for seven months."

I LOVE pumpkin beers. My uncle is the one who got me into craft beer, and pumpkin ales were the 1st that I tried and made me fall in love with craft beer and pumpkin ales.

Of the ones I have tried my list goes as follows:

    1. Southern Tier Pumking - hands down my favorite.

The rest are in no particular order:

    2. Schlafly Pumpkin Ale
    3. Southern Tier Warlock
    4. Dogfish Head Punkin
    5. Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin
    6. Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin
    7. Wolaver's Pumpkin Ale
    8. Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela
    9.Samuel Adams Fat Jack

Pumpkin beers are definitely in my top 5 styles of beer. I would kill to get my hands on some Good Gourd, Good Gourd Almighty, Rumpkin, Pumpkinator, and TREAT.

St. Arnold's Pumpkinator is really good. I'm looking forward to trying a Warlock this year. Pumking is on my list, too.

Horseheads has a fantastic pumpkin ale - now they better not make a liar out of me this year- that has not only the bitterness of the hops but also the bitterness and flavor of the actual pumpkin. Have you ever cooked with pumpkin that wasn't gotten from a can. I loved it last year. I have not seen it yet. Pumking is like pun'kin pie but horseheads is like pumpkin ale.

Williamsburg Alewerks is my heavy favorite.
CCB Good Gourd is awfully close but it's super heavy.
    Schlafly Pumpkin is also excellent.

And one little oddity that I just love is Evolution Jacques au Lantern. It's super refreshing and squashy. Hardywood does a really nice Pumpkin Farmhouse also.

As time has passed, I've kinda grown tired of the 2nd tier ones both good and bad.
