I've tried the '13 and '14 Pumkings and just cant get into them. The wife loves pumpkin beers and she doesn't like Pumking either. Maybe there is something wrong with us... I may pick up another and cellar it till next year just for the hell of it.

I do really like Warlock though. Probably my favorite pumpkin. Dogfish Punkin is good and I just tried Braaaiins! from Spring House tonight and it was pretty good.

I bought Dogfish Head Punkin for the first time this year and I'm not a fan. It's very smooth and balanced but the flavor is too muted for me. So far my favorite is Punkuccino and next is Pike Harlot's Harvest. Next I've got a bottle of Pumking and I'm very excited to drink it.

Do yourself a favor: ignore the crummy ratings and try Wolaver's organic pumpkin ale, the Gold Medal winner at the 2014 GABF. Lots of natural pumpkin flavor blended with 4 organic spices.

Enjoyed Dogfish Head and Pumking. Wife likes pumpkin beer and really liked Lake Front Pumpkin Lager. I wanted to try their Anniversary 25th Imperial but it was out. Have an Almanac Heirloom en route, can't wait to try.

I have had several pumpkin beers this month and by far my favorite would have to be dog fish head.

Dogfish Head Punkin should be outlawed. Easily the worst pumpkin beer I've ever had.

Saint Arnold Pumpkinator and Alaskan Pumpkin Porter, one limited release and one readily available. The malt balances out the pumpkin and pushes both of these beers into the fall and winter category more fully. Both are excellent and deserve at least some recognition here.

I think I should patent this blend.... 1/3 Pumpking, 1/3 Pumpkinator, 1/3 KBS.

Pumpking is in a different class for pumpkin ales. Southern Tier produces and sells more Pumpking than any other beer they make (including year-round beers) the entire year. It is by far the best pumpkin ale around. It is my husband and my mom's favorite overall beer ever. We buy a few cases a year.

Here are my 2nd tier (really good) pumpkin ales:

    Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin
    Captain Lawrence Pumpkin
    Cisco Pumple Drumkin
    Heavy Seas the Greater Pumpkin
    Elysian- Night Owl
    Elysian- the Great Pumpkin

There are also some awesome pumpkin porters/stouts out there

    Midnight Sun TREAT
    ST- Warlock
    Elysian- Dark O the Moon

I like Pumpkin Ales in the fall- but then I'm done with them and on to something else.

I'm soon to be getting some Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin, and also some of the BBA variant. These will be my first Shipyard beers. Anyone have any thoughts on those?

This has been by FAR my favorite pumpkin beer of all time:

I really like Alewerks and was even smitten by Blue Mountains Spooky: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16352/98803/

I had Pump[ky]n a night or two ago and it was pretty good as well but really wish it had more porter characteristics. Having it blind I would think it's an ale.

ST's Pumking will always be my go-to pumpkin beer. I look forward to it every year and horde it like a miser when it releases. The same can be said for ST's Warlock, although NG's Pumpkin Pie Lust is pretty damn amazing and could easily make anyone question their pumpkin beer allegiances.

Best I've had this year BY FAR is Heavy Seas The Great'ER Pumpkin. And Pumking was not good at all.

Also, even though it's less of a pumpkin beer and more of a autumnal/fall beer, what say you on Clown Shoes Pecan Pie Porter? Been dying to get my hands on a bottle but have yet to succeed...

Has anyone ever had (or even heard of) Elysian's Gord Father? I see it on the draft list for a Pumpkin event tonight at Rattle n Hum in NYC, but literally cannot find anything on this beer.
