Which pumpkin beers have you guys seen on tap/in-stores already? So far all I've seen in stores is New Holland's Ichabod and Lakefront's Pumpkin and on tap, Avery's Pump(KY)n.

I'm really keeping an eye out for the Elysian pumpkins (Night Owl, Punkuccino, Dark O' The Moon) and the Southern Tier Pumking. Also really looking forward to Dry Dock's Imperial Pumpkin. If you see these around, please send me a PM of the location!

I love the season of pumpkin beers. Been waiting since last Fall to dive back into these gems!

Why are these already hitting shelves in the middle of summer?

Fall is only like 3 months away, need to beer up on it so we can be completely sick of pumpkin beers before October.
Every year it seems like they come out earlier and earlier. I think it was 3rd week of July when the first ones hit around here.
Unfortunately the market supports the timing. Talking with the Dry Dock guys, their Imperial Pumpkin doesn't move once November hits. So if it doesn't sell later, it gets released sooner.
Doesn't make taste bud/season sense to me, but there we have it.

For me it is not as much of a seasonal thing as having beers that I just plain enjoy. Sure pumpkin beers go well with the Fall atmosphere, but I could honestly have one during any part of the year and enjoy it equally as much.

Oktoberfest beers also seem to have a similar release schedule as I've already seen four times as many of those in stores.

Night Owl stacked for days at Total Beverage Thornton right now. Also, Total Bev Westminster still has that Timmerman's Pumpkin Lambic from last year on their warm shelf if you're feeling adventurous.

I've seen Uinta's Punk'n and Lakefront's thus far. I kinda like the Uinta one because it's so mild and the spices aren't heavy.
Once DD's and Pumking are on the shelves, there isn't much reason to buy any others.

Dry Docks & Southern Tier are the only one's I buy unless I feel the need for an Elysian, particularly Great Pumpkin, but we didn't get any last year. My go to pumpkin (easy drinker) is Tommy Knocker's Small Patch... love that pumpkin beer.

I like Ghoul Fuel a lot, but I usually just grab that on tap since I'm at the B&B so much. Small Patch is another good one since the base beer actually has some substance to it. While it varies (a lot) year to year, the one from BJ's Brewhouse is sometimes good.
Elysian has confounded me. There's a strong anise character to their pumpkins that I just can't handle. Most people seem to like 'em, so I think it's just me.

Night Owl hitting the dock later this week.
Currently to be found in the Southlands are Lakefront, Shipyard, New Holland, and Widmer.
Oh, and the Sam Adams if you're that hard up for Sam Adams pumpkin to buy the mixed 12 pack that it's in.
Couple of Oktoberfests came in last week, too... and I'm sure we'll see more this week.
What's next, Anchor Xmas hitting the cooler just in time for Labor Day weekend?

Saw flyers for Epic's Imperial Pumpkin Porter at their brewery tonight. Anybody had it before? Any good?

If it's Fermentation Without Representation, yes and we like it alot. A solid porter, good balance between spicing and pumpkin. If someone thinks Pumking, Night Owl or Dry Dock's is too heavy on the spicing, but don't want a gourd in liquid form, Epic's will probably be for you

Avery Gored is pretty damn tasty. I believe it'll be draft only again this year, then six-pack cans in '16 and beyond each autumn.

Had Dry Dock's Imperial Pumpkin on tap at North Dock the other day. Have to be honest, I was less than impressed. Lacked a lot of body that I like in my pumpkin beers.
