Generally speaking, I liked Warlock, but I wanted more of the stout to come through. In fact, I wanted it to be more like a 50/50 blend of Choklat and Pumking. But the end result seemed like it over-compensated for the pumpkin component, for the sake of being a "pumpkin" beer first and foremost, not just any other "stout." The pumpkin pie spice overpowered the more subtle cocoa/roast notes of the stout. In the end, I'd probably opt for Pumking if I had to choose between the two.

However, I say that with a caveat - I last had Pumking in 2011, before any of the recent *insertspeculationaboutchangedrecipesnotbeingasgoodasitusedtodebate*

I love Pumking, and Warlock sounded great to me in theory. Didn't do it for me though. I realized that if I ever get the craving for a pumpkin flavored stout again I'll just buy some Pumking and some 2X Stout and mix them myself to save some money.

Definitely one of the better pumpkin stouts (porter) that pops up on tap around LA by me

Rumpkin from Avery knocked my socks off. On tap from Eight Ball Brewing at the Party Source. Great selection and decent enough prices.

OP, shoot me your address and I'll send you a couple of Crown Valleys. I tried this stuff for the first time this fall and was blown away at how good this beer was. I like Warlock and Pumking a lot, but this brew is on a different level. The 'nose' on this beer will have you sniffing your glass constantly!

I've had a few. I like them more than your normal pumpkin ale. The stout base adds more complexity, and I think the roasted flavors complement the pumpkin/spice flavors really well.

Second on the Fisherman's pumpkin stouts. I basically hate pumpkin beers besides Southern Tier and DFH. But the Fisherman's are great. Fisherman's pumpkin beers fly way under the radar.
