Purchasing beer online: KNS Wine

    Hey there fellow BAs. I've become somewhat accustomed to buying beers online that I can't get in my local market and feel fairly practiced at it. However, there is one online shop that I recently came across while looking for a specific beer:

    KNS Wine (http://www.knswine.com)

    I won't go into too much detail, but there are a couple of things about the site that have me hesitant to order from them. One is the state of their website, but the other is that I can't seem to find any customer reviews of the place online.

    Any advice/insight someone can give me on their dealings with the place would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Never heard of them but according to their instagram El Cerritoli Liquor is KNSWine.com http://instagram.com/elcerritoliquor# The phone numbers almost match so they are from the same area. That's about all I can find out from their website.

    I don't know, it looks pretty legit to me, and I have a lot of experience with online stores. Showing beers that they sometimes carry but don't have in stock have no "add to cart" box is hint that they are above board, imho.

    The bottle shop this website is related to is fantastic. I would not hesitate whatsoever.

    Ive seen that site I was wondering bout it too. I have bought from qualityliquorstore.com they have great selection but nowa days u have to buy a certain amount which sux. I also bought from luekensliquors.com as well...they're ok.

    If you doubt the site, I will make the trip for you and trade.... The only reason I don't make a habit of going to el cerrito is because it's too tempting to buy all that Jazz offers! BM me if you see something you want and don't want to pay shipping.

    I know this is an old thread, but I was actually going to purchase some glassware on this website and noticed just today that the domain is no longer active ... weird.

    I placed an order 8/7 (Arctic Saison, various Anchorage beers, Pretty Things Jack D'or etc.) based on OP's referral (via BM). Then when I didn't hear back from them for several days (was expecting some kind of shipping update/tracking number), I sent an email asking about status. Jasmine responded right back within minutes, said their website is down but that they'll ship the order out that day. It was actually the next day, but I got a UPS notification saying the package is on its way, to be delivered this Wednesday. I'll report back if anything funky happens w/ delivery or the contents.

    So in summary... Pros: beer I can't get locally, apparently decent prices, no sales tax, good communication when prompted. Cons: slow turnaround, lackluster communication up front, clunky (or broken) website. Pay your money, take your chances.

    I would agree 100% with this list of pros/cons. The short story version is: worth the risk.

    I've ordered from there twice and had no major problems. Just the slow turnaround on some orders (one of my two orders really seemed to drag, while the other was turned around very quickly) and obnoxious website.

    I have and the experience was just as expected. I bought two Tilquin 375ml, two Almanac Sour Reserve #3, and a Bruery Bois. I want to say it cost me around $130 due to shipping being around $30.

    I can say without a doubt this is a fantastic store. I have ordered probably 15 times over the last year, I've even seen a lot of shit on the El Cerrito FB page that doesn't make it to the KNS page and just called, Jazz added them to the site for me. I live in Las Vegas which isn't far, but not close either and get my shipments the next day with standard ground shipping. Order away worry free.
