IPAs were tasty. I wasn't a fan of Tenmile and I never wanted to pay the price for the wilds.

Shitty review I know, but when I walk in there I tend to get a couple pours of Badlands and then head on to the next brewery....unless it is mario kart day.

I like 'em. They're a good Tier 2 stop if you're in the neighborhood. And since the neighborhood includes AleSmith, Amplified, Mikkeller, Saint Archer and others, it's one worth visiting.

It would have gone unnoticed and chalked it up to being coincidental....had they not visited that brewery back in October.

Going to be in San Diego for a few days next week, will have to stop by here after the required Alesmith stop on Tuesday.

Don't forget to also hit up Amplified since it is right next door.

I wouldn't recommend amplified if going for IPAs. Nothing wrong with their core IPA but it is also old school west coast style at this point. Maybe Reaper can suggest a few things that he enjoys there because they've largely missed the mark for me. I would sooner hit up 32 North instead.

They can practically throw you an order of chicken rolled tacos from Rigoberto's to your seat at Amplfied.

Both Pure and Amplified, are nice little spaces making some good beer. Unless you're really close, I can't say I'd go out of my way to visit either of them though.

hmmm...only two messages in discussion. what brewery in texas is this?

Also, I enjoy visiting pure when I'm down in miramar for pickups. agree with other posters, the price on the sours has always been a bit much for me. Tenmile was okay but not fantastic...happened to be in SD the day of the release so got to try before deciding to pass on my bottles. The tenmile with coffee release was much better so I have a bottle (still on the expensive side). I would consider joining their club in 2018...being less than a year old I want to see a bit more from them before committing to a bottle club.

Almost all of the posts were deleted shortly after it was linked around a bit.

The brewery was Weathered Souls out of TX.

Can't chime in on the recipe allegations, but odds are Weathered Souls took the name 'We Got the Juice' from either the movie Juice or the Chance the Rapper lyric 'I got the juice, I got the juice...' so I have no problems with similar beer names. Search here or that other app for beers called "I'm in love with the coco" in you'll find a decent number of coconut beers.

These guys are ruthless...I guess it can't necessarily be trademarked, but easily identifiable...they have beer named La Vie En Rose. lol.

No time to waste brain power...just jack it

I mean it's not like there's another well-known brewery that makes a beer by the same na.... oh wait, there is.

    Good sized line at Pure.

Funny enough, the only person that I saw cut the line is also the only person that felt the need to bring beers to drink in line.

Not surprised there's a correlation there.

The haze craze is in full effect. Looking forward to Monkish South so I can do some urban camping and put my tent to use.

The line was a little slow moving. Maybe they could have sold the cans in the back of the building instead of the tasting room to speed things up. Tried both beers. Murk of the Beast was clearly the better beer in my opinion. You got the Juice Now was a little syrupy and malty upfront.

Big (but mellow) crowd, got to try both....Murk of the Beast is the same awesome Nelson goodness that B1 was. Whose got the juice is way more malty (not hazy) and bitter. Kinda like a softer take on a WC DIPA. Excited to see how PP cans are gonna shape up this upcoming year. Hopefully we can do better than the LA heathens after all the Monkish releases (albeit that's a low bar)....

Both MOTB and Juice are not Hazy at all, not even opaque. But who cares, not me, they are great beers and both are phenomenal at the respective ABV, I don't get caught up in look, it's all about the taste. MOTB is crazy sessionable at 6.66, super smooth, and the Juice is an awesome drinkable 9+ABV with a nice malt balance that I would prefer over Pliny IMO. The nose on the MOTB and Juice is spot on, just what I am looking for. The only thing that could be improved is the mouthfeel, Pure is not even on the same Planet with TH; Monkish is close. I'm a big Monkish and TH fan and compare everything to the gold standard. Good job Pure Project, all the haters will be splitting hairs.
