Can someone tell me how far out the "best by" date of Pyramid Ales is? I have some Outburst Imperial IPA with a best by 9/15/12.

Back in the old days, we would drink the beer and then approximate its freshness...

Dunno how 'old' it is, but it's intended to be drunk now!

The more you wait for an answer, the further from bottling it gets, so I say drink up. It's delicious and surprising given the brewer.

OP, you might get a better answer by inquiring here.*

    Drink Up!
[*Note: Purely guessing I'd say they use a six month code. And did I read that they're unpasteurized? ]

It's not getting any fresher while you dither over how fresh it is. You going to trash it if it's 3 months old?

-Perhaps he is going to send it as an extra in a trade and doesn't want to let someone down?
-Perhaps he likes maltier beers and not super hoppy ones?
-Perhaps he already drank one of them and is wondering what the deal is because it doesn't seem fresh?
-Perhaps he is comparing how far the best buy date is set on one beer to how far the best buy date is on another beer.

Well said. Dont bag on peeps trying to inform themselves, just dont post. He knows each day he waits its a day older! Jeez guys lighten up. Just cause u r sick of seeing questions like this does not mean u should make someone feel like shit for asking. Pyramid just came into CT and I opened this threadto see the answer too.

It's completely possibly to put context for a question along with that question. People are going to fill in the blanks if you don't, given the freshness freakout that people are working themselves into right now.

That's a good point. I do have to keep the "after 24 hours it's garbage" type mentality in mind.
